They may not be enjoying it. They may just be dumb. You can’t tell me you never did that at any point in your gaming lifetime. IDK how to explain it, if you have any “casual” friends, ask them as they still have “the dumb”.
Could be that they’re just playing the game to distract from other stuff they have to deal with. They want to lie down, relax, and do something that takes a little bit of thought and effort, but not that much – they want to be doing something, but they don’t care how well they perform at it.

I can understand that since well, that’s what video games are mainly for right?
But I’m mostly talking about those ones that will mindlessly rush an shotgun camper in yellow lift on sword base.
This video being what I’m talking about.
Close to 10 times up yellow lift with the same result all the time with no attempt at even trying something else…

While not wanting to be rude, most of my friends will try something else if they fail 2-3times with no success.
It’s akin to sports competition at all levels. One doesn’t have to be a pro to appreciate the game, play it, and have fun. I’m not a pro, but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy a game of pick up football from time to time.
The same can be said for gaming. You don’t have to be a pro to enjoy it. We all play for different reasons,… and those reasons can be as different as we are as people. This forum, in fact, is evidence of that.
> Many times I have told players in MM to stop doing the “tactic” they have failed 5 times in a row, tactics such as AR rushing a shotgun camper.
I bet you tell players to do alot of things, the rank in this game does not connotate command structure.
> Telling them to try something else, I get an answer typically around the line of “I play for fun!”
Most of us do, just saying =/
> The answer I’m looking for mostly refers to the following question.
This is going to be awesome, I just know it =D
> -How does one going -20, getting killed over and over again, spending more time in the respawn screen more than anything, “enjoy” the game?
They are free of the burden of awareness of stats and have not connected winning and a positive K/D with enjoyment of Halo, honestly Im jealous. I remember when I played for joy and could care less about anything but playing the game, good times, not that Im suffering too much now, LOL!
> I just don’t understand the “fun” is that, someone enlighten me.
It is an impossible feat, to achieve such a thing would require you to believe that this could be fun and Im not sure this is going to happen.

It felt so good to betray him, I nearly came rainbows.

See, your K/D suffered and so could have the game(not this one) and you found joy in it.

I understand what you’re trying to say.
But…
Would you enjoy playing that football game if you spent 3/4 of the game warming the bench compared to if you played the entirety of it?
I understand we play for different reasons, but I find it very surprising people play to spend more time in the respawn than actually doing something…
> I bet you tell players to do alot of things, the rank in this game does not connotate command structure.
What does rank have to do in all of this?
That aside.
If you were to see someone rushing up yellow lift 10 straight times and die 10 straight times, you’d tell him to keep doing it?
Or would you try and get him to use a different idea as his isn’t working for him.

How did my K/D suffer? It was him dying repeatedly and I’m the one who betrayed. What are you even talking about?

Honestly? If I’m playing with friends, I usually don’t mind nor notice. I think being on the bench is a bit different than respawning. I honestly don’t even notice how long it takes, or pay attention to how often it happens when I’m in a party.
I understand your point though. Just understand that not every enjoys competition on a higher level, or is even playing to win. Like all things in life, fun is subjective. It’s differing tastes, much like food. Some love pizza, some love anchovies. There’s nothing wrong with either, so long as that’s your own taste.

I guess I’d have to be in their head to truly understand.
