Some Speculation I've thought of for H5!

For those who haven’t beaten Spartan Ops or H4, Spoilers below

In Halo 4 we had spartan ops and the Campaign was almost entirely based on Infinity which is carrying the new Spartan program and training them. Also, Spartan Ops ended as a cliff hanger, saying the story hasn’t been completely told yet.

My Speculation is that they will tie Spartan Ops into the Campaign and that the Black Spartan on the cover is you. Similar to Noble 6 and the Rookie (all black color scheme, blue visor, and what will be the basic armor) and Is really a type of ‘place holder’.

Why do I believe this? We all know Halsey created Cortana, Most likely Lasky will at some point tell Chief there is a way to get Cortana back, and that’s Halsey, and she is among the covenant (could either be a carrier or the home planet). So Chief’s mission, and only thing on his mind, Is to seek out Halsey to get Cortana back. Now, How does this tie in with your spartan? At the end of Spartan ops the Librarian Split a key which would unlock a Forerunner artifact, If i remember correctly one was given to Halsey and the other was given to the scientist or Sarah Palmer. With that being said, You’re character will also be looking for Halsey to get the other half of the Key to see what the artifact really does (remember, the Infinity is not made for war, but discovery and exploration). So this could lead to you working with the Chief in finding Halsey.

For the last bit that kind of led me to this speculation is the Art they showed us. As seen In the concept art in the reveal, you can see that the Architecture Is not like Human, Forerunner, or Flood. It is very similar to the curvature that the Covenant have. It could take place on a Covenant Planet where Halsey is being held and where Chief and you are searching for her. Also, when i say ‘curvature’ I mean that every Covenant Vehicle or ship is very rounded, The buildings in the picture follow that design. Along with the small person on the bottom which could very well be an Elite based on the shape of the head and legs.

If the new Spartans is meant to be us, why would we be told he is a new character and actually given a confirmed gender. Seems like a problem for female Halo fans. I’d actually prefer the new Spartan to be us, but it looks like a new to be established character.

Lasky isn’t a scientist, so how would he know of a way to bring back Cortana?

That discovery and exploration line is nothing but propaganda. Otherwise, it wouldn’t need such a heavy armament, a legion of super-soldiers and so on. It was built for war, but was sent on exploratory missions when the war ended, but as Spartan Ops shows it has no problem being serviced for war again.

One of the only things you may be right about, some speculate that it is Sanghelios, but nobody is sure yet.

I think that the ONI Spartan being a customizable Noble 6 like character has been essentially ruled out when they said he is a new character and not a female. If it WAS a customizable character, then you could be a female in game and Franky/Josh Holmes wouldn’t be so quick to define it as strictly a male. Also, from the few mentions it feels like a more rounded character than someone like Noble 6.

Other than that, you have interesting points. I am sure both Halsey and the Janos Key will become a focal point of the upcoming game and/or TV show. As for the structures in the concept art, I wouldn’t ever qualify them as Covenant looking, but that doesn’t rule out any specific Covenant species. We can assume that the rounded purple structures were San Shyum architecture (since they led the Covenant until the end), so this could still be a structure inside a Sangheili world (for instance).

That statue in the background looks like it could be an Elite holding an Energy Sword, and the moons/suns in the background are apparently in line with those of the Elite homeworld (Sanghelios). I personally won’t be quick to bet on that (I don’t see why John would go there) but time will tell. It might even just be a multiplayer map- that has happened before.

Either way, I think E3 will shed more light on this matter with another CGI trailer. Will be cool

When was it said they had a confirmed gender? I must have missed the article.

> Lasky isn’t a scientist, so how would he know of a way to bring back Cortana?

True, But he knows that Halsey is Alive and that she used her tissue while creating Cortana. (Cortana even told chief if she could get back to Halsey she could possibly save her from rampancy using her tissue again).

Thats true, Which also got them the Artifact that pulled the scientist through it to Gul. While they have half of the key, They could either try to get the Key from the Covenant so they can’t use it, or so the UNSC can open the Forerunner artifact.

I also might not be 100% right but I could be close to what the game actually turns out to be. At least the Chief and Infinity going to Halsey part.

Frank O’Connor said it, here

> True, But he knows that Halsey is Alive and that she used her tissue while creating Cortana. (Cortana even told chief if she could get back to Halsey she could possibly save her from rampancy using her tissue again).

Yet Cortana is dead and Lasky has no reason to suspect otherwise.

Then again, a lot of people suspect Halsey will play into things. Right now, however, the UNSC Vociferous is chasing Jul and Halsey in the Escalation comic series, though we haven’t seen much of the ship since the series started.
