Some Solutions To WZ Farming

I’ve read a lot on the forums about people being farmed, and I can’t really say I’ve been farmed a lot since I’ve probably only been farmed about 2 to 3 times in warzone. I do see how it is a problem so I may have found a pretty good solution to it, that won’t cause any balance issues one of those is protected spawns.

Okay here me out before you respond, Halo Reach wasn’t the greatest of Halo’s but it had some pretty interesting ideas, I think a protected (shielded spawn) would help players being farmed not get spawn killed.

Now this might be boring because you basically have to wait for the timer to run out which would be a very boring game.

So my next solution, which probably won’t work would to rework all the other warzone maps to have a backdoor so that players could try and escape the trap and head around the enemy.

Cons to Solution 2 are that the enemy can just set up people to watch that backdoor, and you’re trapped.

I think Solution 1 may be a bit more boring but saves people from getting spawn killed and leaves people less frustrated.

ORR Here’s a very very far fetched idea, drop pod spawns. Being able to choose to spawn in a drop pod in certain locations away from the base, that definitely gives a player a chance to get out without ruining the balance of the game.

Just keep fighting. That’s the only option Spartans live by.

And it should be an Ultra Rare Req card, to discourage people from spamming it

If you’re being farmed there is no way you would be able to build up a large amount of REQs to summon that, that’s counterproductive.

But I agree it should be only available if your core is exposed. And have a timer to only be used every minute and a half.

I’d take that drop pod and spawn it on top of the enemy tank outside my base…like a mortor…

In all my WZ games, i can’t say i’ve ever been ‘farmed’, yes i’ve been in game that ends in a heavy loss, but never lost to constantly getting spawn killed inside the home base…i’m sure it’s not as bad as people make out.

I have only had one game that I felt like the other team was farming us for kills and what I loved about it was our team kept fighting and eventually we fought back and turned a 400 point deficit into a victory for our team. It sucks to be constantly killed but if you work as a team you can get out of the trap.

All I did was hop into a banshee fly past the enemy team, abandon my banshee and sit in the back of their base or garage and hijack their vehicles.

I was mainly only farmed in WZ Assualt by Whiskey and two other companies in Urban while that was still in rotation.

Frustrating games they were but I eventually just hid in a crate and ate something while the timer ran out and then complained about how stupid the spawning is in Urban on WZ Assualt.

drop pods sound awesome… I hate spawning sometimes and get shot before i can even take a step.

Nothing needs to be done about farming because it isn’t an issue. I think people don’t understand what farming is exactly. Getting destroyed or getting cored in under 4 minutes isn’t farming.

What did he say that confused you on that?

I’ve found farming much less common in the past few weeks and with the DMR I now sit around base and blast long shots at the incoming enemy.
My team was trapped in and around home base for half a game tonight, I still finished up something like 25 and 9 or something similar thanks to the DMR and sniper.

Should have been more clear. I wasn’t referencing his post, it’s the other 50 post a day we see about Warzone farming. It’s just not happening that much. I’ve seen it like 5 times out of over 1,000 rounds.

the drop pod idea is unique. It would have to be balanced. Only using it if your core is exposed for sure. Making it an UltraRare card… make it worth 5 RP to deploy… and make it so you can only drop it on bases. Fairly easy to counter still but gives the trapped team a last chance.

I do not think farming is an issue though. and I play lots of WZ. Only happened to me one time and that was in WZA on Urban.

If you weren’t referencing his post, why were you commenting on it…?

Anyways, I know what you mean, farming has become a term kind of like “tryhard” now.

I’ve never been farmed before and I think I’ve only been in a game where my team tried to farm once. I don’t think its as big as everyone says it is either.

you are very correct. farming is almost nonexistent anymore to be honest. People are mistaking getting killed while triple capped for being “farmed”. The problem is so small that 343 won’t even look into a so called “solution” because like people always say “there is no need to fix something that isn’t broken”.

And you should be able to direct it a bit to try and crush the spawn killers.

I know that there’s an invisible wall on Urban way in the back corner by the garage. If you get sick of dying every 2 seconds you can try and get there and hid behind it. You’re visible, but protected from bullets.

What about something similar to battlefield spawn beacons as reqs that you only or maybe even your team can drop in on that way if your team is being farmed you still have to work to make it out of the base to use it?
