Some serious problems

Spawns in this game are worse than CoD and its honestly impressive, I can’t tell you just how many times I’ve spawned with somebody looking right at me or right next to a team fight going on right after I just got out of that team fight and it’s infuriating.

After playing Halo for years that just isn’t what people come to expect and so when it happens it throws people off, it starts a downward slope that causes crazy tilt, it doesn’t feel very fun to not be able to even recollect yourself after a gunfight because you get thrown right back into the -Yoink!-.

Furthermore the server latency in this game is inexcusable, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been killed after I ran behind cover, I have clips of sentinel beams literally killing me through walls because of latency.

This is frustrating as hell.

Idk, sometimes the spawns are fine and sometimes they’re iffy. Big problem is sprint. It’s hard for the spawn system to account for someone sprinting a long distance on a small map while it’s spawning you in. Not sure what can be done here tbh. I wouldn’t call it worse than CoD though. That game is an absolute mess.

Server latency? Yeah. I die a lot after running around corners. I’ve also noticed sometimes I’ll get a kill AFTER I’ve fired the last bullet in my clip. Like they were already dead, but the server hadn’t told me yet so I was still shooting at them. This does need a look over.

I understand where you’re coming from but I’ve had so many matches where in btb I was spawned into a gunfight several times a match regardless of the game mode, it’s happened to me in arena as well and even during those arena matches I was able to think of places where the game could have spawned me outside of conflict.

I would be more understanding if everybody had and was using the grappleshot to traverse at high speeds but the sprint in this game is slow compared to other games and the maps are a little bigger than even the maps in H5 (aside from Warzone maps) so I just don’t understand how it’s this consistent.

Hopefully they iron it out relatively soon because it’s really throwing off my game to a high degree🥲

Spawns I’ve had maybe 1 in every 50 spawns be an absolutely bull-Yoink place to spawn. I agree its hard for it to make sense of it when multiple enemies can be sprinting all over the place. I imagine it tries to spawn you closest to your safest team mate unless they’re all engaged in which case it spawns you further away. (at least most of the time)

And yeah the round corner thing and last clip thing i’ve had this happen to me a lot. Server tickrate I imagine is a culprit here. The general netcode seems to fluctuate far to wildly for me. I’d just like to know that im playing on EU servers ALL the time and nothing more. The population of the game being free to play and crossplay AND locked down playlists. I’m more than positive the playerpool is big enough to let us just choose our regions.

I hope it starts to happen a lot less to me, it seems like maybe I’m just getting insanely unlucky.

I imagine tickrate’s the issue too, I’d imagine they’ll fix it pretty quick seeing how on top of addressing issues they’ve been so far.

The spawning is definitely bad but as you say, the logistics are a bit tricky. That being said I’ve had a lot of instances where the whole enemy team is together and I’m still spawning right by them. Infact this game I just played I had two straight spawns where I spawned on a dynamo grenade lol

Latency is a huge issue though. Just about every game I have at least one instance where I shoot someone in the head and they don’t die until a full two seconds after I shot them. It’s very blatant, and it gets me killed a frustrating amount. I’m tryna be understanding about it but it’s really annoying when you’re trying to get in the competitive zone on ranked and -Yoink!- like that keeps happening.

I would have thought every new map has some issues with spawns.

But now 343 are accumulating data from thousands and thousands of matches. I’m sure they are generating heat maps to look at how the maps flow… and I’d be very surprised if one of the telemetry points wasn’t along the lines of spawn points vs time to damage.

It would be very difficult getting things right, especially for objective games, where you need to spawn relatively close to the action - but not in a position where you can positively or negatively influence the game off the line.

Things should improve.

PS. I haven’t had a huge issue with the spawns so far. At the very least I think I’ve benefitted just as much from an enemy spawning in front of me as I have from occasionally spawning into the firing line.
