I’m not a very big forge person. It’s fun yes but I never really used it. So I have some questions about it.
- does anyone know the exact release?
- I heard there are more objects and such than before. Is this true?
- are there going to be forerunner and covenant style objects? Like hardlight bridges, covenant deployable shield, etc. Stuff like that?
- are warzone weapon and vehicle variants going going to be in forge?
- does anyone know how many items you can put in a map or is there a budget?
Thanks!
We know little of Forge as of now, if you’re interested to know more visit the blogpost titled, “Building the biggest Forge yet” to get a bit more info.
- We only know it’s coming December, hopefully it’s early. Personally I wouldn’t complain if it was my Christmas present either.
- Yes, soo many new objects apparently. There’s 1600+ objects! The previous games had some hundred. But with this new Forge iteration they said they’ll probably be able to keep adding to the object count through patches.
- Yes, there’s a pallet for each. They may only be specific objects or scenery pieces though, but nice nonetheless. But we’ll see objects have at least a hundred color options and some of those may be besides UNSC they could also have Covenant and Forerunner themed. If not, there’s still many options.
- Fingers crossed they will be, a few were in campaign any thing is possible.
- There’s a True budget system based on memory. You can place as many items you want, but with more intensive pieces with higher textures and other stuff will take up more memory and draw on the performance. But 1024 is the max object count I believe. There’s also a soft budget. Things like lights, weapons, spawns can be placed indefinitely. Soo some crazy things may occur.
Hope this helps, check the blog if you can. But be warned, it’ll get you super excited and you may not be able to wait till December!

Don’t forget you can build past the True Budget system to an extent but your map will run into some render problems and other visual anomalies as you build. So we won’t just be limited by the TB system, but it’d make the map look nicer to stay inside

Yep! That’s what the soft budget I mentioned is. They talked about it as if they intended for it to happen. First thing I’m going to do is overload the map and see what happens. XD
