should in all honesty be permanently banned from multiplayer. I just played a firefight match and there was 1 guy who was just driving around in a warthog bumping players so they would die, myself included. When the game ended he had 3 kills…
3 kills… in other words he had zero interest in any capacity of playing the game and was just “trolling”. The rest of us shouldnt have to deal with these blights and I strongly believe they should be actually punished/dealt with in an absolute and outright manner.
There are players that just run like idiots all the match too. The ones that betray you try to report them. If some betray my friends and we find him again we all kill him or destroy his vehicles, that’s our revenge xD. Is easy have some “protection” if you play with some friends, that’s the best way for kill this trolls that don’t respect.
You can also do a list, for example block them and next time you match them, use your vehicles or something for kill this bullies.
Not perm banned at first chance, but maybe after 5 offenses after getting temp banned they can get banned for a week, then a month, then perm banned, but maybe with a appeal I’d say you blew up a enemy warthog on accident with a teammate on the chain gun then that won’t count
With the ability to smurf accounts it honestly doesn’t matter. You ban one account well the person just has 30 more to choose from. It’s a weird spot but honestly I think trolling will continue to stay for the rest of gaming

If the offenses are severe enough they can ban the console itself.

I can say with certainty that it was just the person driving, he died eventually in round 4, still while driving that same vehicle, after that he was just mostly standing around for the rest of the game, somehow got credit for a single boss and his 3 kills during this time so at least did a most basic amount of whatever in the final few minutes after being an existance tax for the preceding 10
Maybe a 1 shot perma ban is a bit much yes, but a scaled response for sure, players who behave purposely to the detriment of everyone else shouldnt have the absolute freedom to continue without repercussions
edit - I just went through the guy in question’s game history. He has played 60 warzone matches, he has DNF’d 25 of those matches. In virtually every other firefight match the only way he comes better than dead last is if other players join late. Also, this is weird but his game history starts back in 2018 where the bulk of his failed matches/DNF’s are then it restarted just 2 days ago - 4 losses (3 firefight he came last in, 1 warzone he was second last on his team), 2 last place victories and 4 DNF’s.

Yes but I doubt trolling in game without being offensive (voice/text) they would ban a console

In that situation I keep sprinting so my health doesn’t regenerate, and then I run infront of their vehicle when they accelerate. They can only see that your shield is broken, but not the tiny sliver of health you’ve saved for them. Typically I find they still want to tap you just enough to deal damage, so they generally fall for it. After the first death they usually stop, if not then you get to kick them. It’s better to do it during an intermission between waves so the AI don’t kill you.

honestly, with this guy having nearly 50% of his warzone matches being DNF’s I dont think he cares about being betray kicked, It seems like he’ll wait it out if theres any cooldown then join again and continue. Even when he isnt a DNF he scores at the very bottom, only beating anyone else if someone joins late and this guy is carried to 7th by the completion points due to the rest of the team actually playing and still clearing the objectives. This guy literally doesnt care about playing the game. Best score I saw him having was like 10 kills. An average player will get more than that in a typical round 1, let alone round 2 3 4 and 5 as well.
Thats the problem. This guy doesnt care, he had 1 day 16 hours of multiplayer playtime, 304 games played including those 60 warzone matches and he’s only lvl 34. his warzone k/d is 0.35 compared to my account im playing which is at 36.1 and I have 66% of my kills as loadouts. If i was a vehicle specalist running tanks alot it would be even higher. I do enjoy in dominating the headshot counter more than “winning” on the overall score. Though i especially enjoy it when i top in everything lol - kills assists and headshots.
I just wish that there was more to be done against players who dont play for the team, who turn up and are a negative aspect for the full match offering nothing but suffering to other players. It benefits no one, even the person playing dirty just feels empowered to keep it up, and any minor issues like a betray kick that costs them a req 1 scout hog which can be replaced 5 times over with any bronze pack, or a daily login reward, is of no real impact to them. But its everyone else who has the poorer experience.
Heres the account i’m using these days - https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/players/asterramethI would post on it but i have built up history on here and rather not start fresh on the forums as well.Honestly not even sure why i started on that new account anyway, I dont do arena on it so its not like im cheesing ranks or the like. it literally has zero arena games played lol. I go for req 3 get dual BR’s and patrol case then get DMRS asap then use those till game ends pulling specific vehicles in specific rounds where I know i can get the best use of them

Not realistically. Smurfing is so prevalent because it is so easy, and that’s based on how Xbox Live works on the Xbox One. An account with XBL on an Xbox One shares Live with all the other accounts on the console. It’s a feature designed so that families can benefit from XBL without everyone requiring their own subscription. However, some gamers abuse this feature by making several dummy accounts. The only way to truly diminish smurfing and alt accounts would be to require every account to pay for its own XBL subscription, as trolls and griefers would be unlikely to shell out money just to create alt accounts. Of course, this would make XBL much less affordable for families who wish to enjoy online gaming together.
When that player was running you over with vehicles, did they game register it as a betrayal, or did the game just say you died? WZFF is a bit different from traditional Halo in that friendly-fire is disabled, so when a friendly runs you over, you’re dying from the physics engine treating you like you were hit or crushed by a large object moving at high speeds. Griefers are always looking for creative ways to get around the banhammer; it’s impressive (not in a good way) how dedicated they are.

They console ban for deranking, and there may be other instances. The ban hammer is opaque, as it should be, so we won’t get the details.

There was no actual death message on screen, I have been team killed outright plenty of times and it always comes up with the player x splattered player y with the little splatter icon we all know so well. This wasnt like that, I wasnt hit directly it was a glancing hit that didnt kil me, i had my shields and health drained and saw the warthog goinng past me over the terrain that was infront and to my side, so like 45 degrees offset from my facing direction. The vehicle was still traveling by as i was killed by the targets i had engaged. When a vehicle doesnt instakill theres no message and the vehicle driver has zero consequences but they can push a player down to no shields and mere pixels of health left meaning any shot from any weapon in the game no matter how weak will 1 shot kill them.
That is what happened. driver turned a hard right to graze me while i was in combat causing me the instantly be killed by the AI. Driver then proceeded to earn no kills untill the final round and he finished the game dead last on 3 kills. Terrible behaviour. doing that in the real world would get them ejected from the team, especially given the player in questions service record history (25 DNF’s from 60 games, 1 game out of 60 where they beat someone on the score without that person joining in round 4-5, having a warzone/firefight kd of 0.35. It isnt very hard to see that this player doesnt want to have anything to do with an enjoyable experience for others. He wants to leech with zero effort, or just troll players untill they get him ejected. Obviously its against the rules to name and shame, thats why I havent lol. I know exactly who it was and i did hit him with an xbox block and a “Other” report stating his behaviour in game. But I dont know how reliable that is and I fear theres every chance I may be required to deal with his inability to care again
Also, on a side note - Its actually quite common for me to be killed with no death message, I played a game on prospect only a short while ago and twice i was killed by elites spawning grenades at the precise moment i headshotted them. Both times i blew up with no explanation, I had to exit to the theatre mode after the match to find out how and why i died.

Hmmm… Why don’t they at Microsoft just have a system addition where you have to link a ss number to your profile… This would stop the spammers…

Lol, MS has no business asking people for that info. Nor should anyone provide that info to a corporation like Microsoft.

I get it but some piece of information that is not as useless as an email in detering multiple accounts like credit card, phone number, or whatever…
It doesn’t really bother me, I was chiming in… Easy…

When I was a kid Imagined bungie coming down in game with a golden gravity hammer and If they hit you, you got banned.
