some of my favorite warzone tricks

  1. after clearing the starting base, Spawn a Warthog and ambush enemy team on their way to their armory. (Very effective in slowing them down tho effectively suicide)

  2. Use a Oni Scout hog to drive between enemy armory and the middle base right at start… 9 times out of 10 they will all stop to shoot you instead of just ignoring you for the silly distraction that you are and in a Oni Scouthog you can take a Massive beating right off the bat.

  3. Head for the enemy teams Local NPC spawn right off the bat… on ARC this doesnt work because its on the way but on Apex and Stormbreak, they often forget they are even there.

  4. Camp for the second wave of team localized NPC spawns… these ones are often easily ignored even tho on some maps they spawn right next to the armorys. ARC, and Stormbreak are often missed initially or forgotten, Apex not so much since the second wave often contains a ghost right next to a armory.

  5. you can jump on top of the Garage in armory… there are two easy points of access, one from the inside, and another from the ledge behind it with the large 6 wheeled vehicle, this is really nice on Assault types. you can hammer the top while allies flood in from the bottom, getting easy targeting to enemies camping in a corner above the two ramps.

  6. The mantis is Horribly weaker when faced with a scorpion, and will be destroyed before it gets off a second wave of missiles… if the scorpion hits before it even gets off the first, it will probably get off the second before the salvo ends… the only chance a mantis has is to “disco dodge” back and forth as fast and erratically as they can to throw off the scorpions aim.

  7. Sniper beats banshee… sad but very very very true. the rifle will rip the shields and destroy the craft outright in just a clip if you are lucky or unlucky depending on your position in the encounter.

  8. you can assassinate the warden eternal in Warzone… i dont have a clip of it (yet, im searching the games for the one i almost did) but here is a clip of it in campaign… i can confirm its possible in Warzone, not sure the threshold to do it tho.

  9. two people can easily handle hunters… simply trade off attacking them from behind… hit both and wait for them to turn on you then use cover… all warzone maps have a map layout that lets you take cover between attacking them. from behind even a BR will quickly take them down (at least reasonably). if you have a good group, you can have 2 players kill the hunters while the others keep the other team out of the engagement.

  10. Needlers destroy NPCs. Seriously, anything but hunters/warden or the vehicles will very quickly fall to a needler… even the tougher Knights will generally fall before you run out of ammo… this is a really good gun for taking them out, and is very easy to obtain.

  11. Spawning with Overshield when you see a enemy going into one of your bases from the respawn screen… its a very nasty trick and unless you are really bad its basically a easy defend. on another note… i don’t know if the damage boost works right, or at least enough to have any noticeable effect on TTK.

  12. you can equip two of the same loadout weapon if you have more than one variant (an enough energy levels to use both). i use this to have two Battle rifles for attacking NPCs outside their response capable range…

  13. Apex Features Zealot Assassins, which are pretty easy to kill with your starting weapons and spawn right at the start. they have a tendency to equip their swords instead of using their rifles, which makes them easier to kill, and gives you a free Energy sword right at the start of the match… you can get as many as 3 people with energy swords from this and dominate the Tower.

  14. the sniper nests on Apex can be heavily exploited. simply stand right next to the shield into the base and pre-aim before going through. not everyone realizes they cannot shoot through the shield and you can waste them on reload or pop them with a Sniper rifle.

  15. Don’t just go for the highest energy weapon you can equip with your reqs… if you have a very high energy level, you can actually get several items in a single spawn… a example is spawning with both Overshields and a Shotgun or Sword if you have rank 6 energy. it can be VERY beneficial to spawn with 2 or more bonuses instead of one.

  16. Use a chaingun spawn to kill enemies trying to get to the garage at the start of a match on ARC. its pretty easy to get kills even from one of the armorys… at least untill Battle Rifles start getting spawned.

  17. bottlenecking the enemy team by trapping them in the middle on Stormbreak… often the race for the middle will see one side finally win it and never lose it, if this happens dont even try to take it, instead go through the back tunnel and stealth take the other armory… then camp the enemy team form both sides while taking out any NPC spawns.

  18. if 17 happens to you, Spawn at your base, then use a Req to spawn a vehicle, take your closest Armory or if its heavily guarded, go around to the other. Tunnel Vision for the fortress can affect both sides… always use the back alley to your advantage, even if you have to go on foot.

  19. If i know a enemy is coming up a ramp i am on top of, i always prep a Ground Pound… this is always a great option for a easy kill if you are on any elevated structure and see a enemy on your radar, just be sure to catch them while they are moving away initally.

  20. if you have the top of the tower and there are a bunch of enemies trying to push up the req station ramp, you can just jump off the back right behind the tunnel to the beach and get them from behind… the enemy players down there tend to expect you to stay up there and just try to grenade you as you come up, BE UNEXPECTED. (great chance for ground pound multi-kill if you are lucky).

  1. Dont bother hitting the enemy if they are attacking the boss, even if you kill them there is no real chance that there is not another enemy attacking from more extreme ranges you cannot see them at… even on stormbreak you can snipe the warden from outside the cave system, so lay as much damage as you can and you have a much higher chance of being that one lucky shot… its possible to get a kill on warden alone with just a SMG if you are up close even while the other team has 4 or more vehicles spamming chainguns on him. (on another note if your team is really far ahead, boss tunnel vision creates one of the best killing spree opportunities in this game) (on another another note, this system is stupid, there is no reward for killing players attacking a boss, only for killing the boss)

  2. Aiming with the Energy Sword MASSIVELY increases the lunge range… if you get the drop on a group in a armory you can wipe them out very easily even if they are spread out inside.

  3. Don’t fully charge the ground pound, there is only a second or so you need to charge to get full damage. get in the air quick, aim quick and let go to fire.

  4. Keep those plasma pistols! they are easily the most useful item for dealing with vehicles, NPC or player… if you land one shot on a vehicle you can keep landing them until you get close enough to board a player operated vehicle. this works really well as a way to kill tanks. so well that if you get the first shot landed on a lone tank, you are basically guaranteed to kill it.

  5. on another weapon note, the Lock on rage for the Hydra is MASSIVE. its much better than the effective range of a Assault rifle tho not as good as a BR… its pretty easy to just walk around in ADS while facing a base and get a lock the moment someone runs out, fire off two shots and kill them… do be careful vs groups tho, the only way to drop lock is to drop your ADS and you might re-acquire when you re-enter ADS.

  6. Don’t ALWAYS run… sometimes it really is better to sneak… if you manage to get into a unoccupied enemy base and eliminate the enemy marines, sneak and don’t run, instead hide in a position where the enemy HAS to walk in front of you so you can get the first shoot.

  7. if you are in one of your bases and there is someone there but sneaking, it might be better to wait them out, afterall your teammates can spawn there but the attacker cannot. waiting for reinforcements while stalling them from taking the base is quite effective.

  8. if you can sneak into a neutral base at the start and go undetected when a enemy group is trying to capture it, every second you stall the capture process is a massive boon to your team.

  9. The grunts and Jackals can carry needlers… if you see one, pick it up! head to a NPC spawn point and enjoy your easy kill. Even the storm rifle dropped can be useful in killing NPC spawns early on. it breaks Elite shields very fast.

  10. Learn the spawns, each map has specific locations that spawn specific enemies… the same enemy group will not spawn twice, the last spawn is always the Warden. after the warden, its entirely up to the base income and kills to win a match.

wow… that went a lot longer than i expected… hope someone gets some useful tips.

Did not know the sword lunge had loner range when ADS. Lots of good advice, thanks!

thank you much. that is all very useful information. i hope to test them in warzone soon.

how to you shorten the ground pound?

just don’t fully charge it. there is a indicator in the circle that starts moving in when its ready to fire.

after that initial charge you have a few more seconds before it forces you to let go and fire it yourself…

the initial charge is barely a second or so, the full time before it forces the pound is like 2-3 seconds.

there is no damage difference between fully “charging” and releasing the trigger the moment the initial charge is ready.

Some fantastic information in here, thanks!

Great tips! Thanks for taking the time to write them up!

Go into a Warzone match or custom games and test the ground pound out till you master it.

Good tips. I like to take the needler or storm rifle and head to the zealot assasin.

Great OP.
Thanks for the advice. Some great tips in there.

Oooooh lots of nifty tricks in here. Wasn’t aware of the short ground pound one. I’m gonna go pound my enemies. Did I use that term correctly?

if you let go of the ground pound charge don’t you just fall…? my melee is the right stick, if i let if go i think I just fall.

All good points, thanks OP.
