Just quickly gonna throw you folks this! Xbox One does not require Kinect to be plugged in.
As i recall, many believed the thing HAD to be plugged in. This is not the case as evidenced above.
Good day forumers!

This video provides no evidence that the Xbox One will work without Kinect attached. No source information is provided for their claim that versions 2 and 3 will come without Kinect. While Microsoft may go this route at some point, these guys are only speculating. I doubt Microsoft would be so quick to abandon Kinect after spending so much money advertising it.
Wouldnt the solution just be to turn the damn thing around or put a piece of tape over the eyeball of it?

My thinking as well(tape) but doesn’t x1 have a voice recorder as well.
I do not believe that the Kinect should be required to be connected before the console will function. Does your computer require your mouse to be connected before it will function? No. Does Windows 8 require you to have a touch screen monitor connected before it will function? No. Does your TV require a Blu-ray/DVD player to be connected before it will function? No. So why does the Xbox One have this requirement?

Come to think of it you may be right. I am not a fan of them pushing it on us.

Then just turn it off or unplug it, people need to stop making it sound more difficult than it really is. Not to mention, who is really going to care about what your voice sounds like? Microsoft isn’t going to have some fat dude eating Doritos jerking off like the TSA in Southpark.
A video from Machinima does not confirm anything.
Microsoft has denied the report that Xbox One will eventually ship without Kinect.
“We have no plans to introduce an Xbox One without Kinect. We believe in Kinect and the value it brings to both games and entertainment, and believe $499 is a great value for what consumers receive with their Xbox One.”

Remember, though, the Xbox 360 requires an audio/video cable to be plugged into the console before it will boot, and in the case of an HDMI cable, the display must be set to the proper HDMI input as well. Microsoft wants people to use their eyeball-paperweight and they’ll do whatever the can to make sure people can’t get around it.

Ive got a better idea its called… wait for it… turning the kinect off.
I don’t know why people are getting so scared at this whole idea.
I’ve got nothing to hide, I don’t do drugs or anything like that. I’m not in league with any terrorist organizations. They can spy on me all they like and the only problem will be for the poor guy who has to go through all of this data and look and listen for stuff.

Umm…headset, much? This just makes NO sense. You already put your voice on the Internet…there’s no freaking point in complaining about something most people are fine with. Maybe you’re not, and that’s fine. However, I don’t think that’s a major problem for people hating the Kinect.
Besides, the reason people shouldn’t care about the video part is A)You are too boring to watch when you are playing Xbox, and B)You can simply turn the @#$%ing thing around to face a wall. Omigosh! Problem solved.

The thing is, why not just make the blasted thing optional? If people (myself included) would have to tape the eye or have it face the wall, then obviously we don’t want it. I personally can’t stand the Kinect, and now if I want the next gen console, it’s being forced upon me? Really?

It’s still the invasion of privacy. Apart of an organization or not, the fact that the capabilities to being watched don’t sit well with me.

The Kinect is another type of controller, not an audio or video cable. Does the Xbox 360 require two controllers to be connected before it will function? No. If the Kinect is necessary for basic functionality, then I better not be forced to use a gamepad for any Xbox One exclusive game. Otherwise, I do not see any point for it to be required to be connected before the console will function.
