Yeah, I’d love this, but the 360 might not be able to handle this, especially with Halo 4’s graphics. I’m worried about it running at 30fps locked.
Either way, I’d like to see Halo 5 (assuming it’s on Xbox 3/720) implement a playlist/mode like this. A mix between Invasion Slayer, VIP, and Conquest (from Battlefield).
I can envision it like this:
20 Minutes per game.
16 Players per game.
Note: By flags, I mean stationary flags that you capture like in Territories.
5 Flags on the map, each starting with neutral. Each flag takes about 10 seconds to capture and 10 seconds to neutralize.
Each team earns 10 points per 20 seconds of holding a flag, and kills are 1 point. A capture is 5 points.
It should work out to about 60 Points per Minute (20 minutes divided by 20 seconds) at a time of 25 minutes (1500/60). Of course, this is just an estimate, so good teams would reach the goal.
Team A spawns in a frigate, overlooking a battlefield. Players can either choose to take two Hornets, one Pelican, one Falcons, and one Cyclops 2. The Cyclops 2 has the spawntimer of a Pelican. It holds 1 person, and it’s basically a juggernaut. All players are informed when it enters the battlefield because of the danger it presents. It moves very slow, but it has a directional thruster pack boost every 30 seconds. Its left arm is a Gauss cannon, and the other arm is a gigantic fist, to melee. The easiest way to kill this would be to get behind this, as it would not be third person. Players can not capture points while in the Cyclops 2. It can’t fit into the tower of Team B. Players can also choose to “drop”, like an ODST (Think Section 8, but in a pod). The MVP on said team can also fire a MAC shot every 7 minutes for a total of 2 per game. Players can not snipe/kill from the frigate.
Team B spawns in a fortress/tower, containing many sniping spots and land vehicles at the base - two Warthogs, one Gauss hog, one Scorpion, and a Cobra. The Cobra is a land version of the Falcon, but it is effective against vehicles, not as much troops. It holds 5 players, including the driver. It has the same spawn timer as the Scorpion.
Team B must hold their ground against the enemy - two flags reside in their base. This is the hot zone of the whole map, thus they have the obvious advantage by spawning there. The MVP on this team can call in an Electromagnetic pulse every 7 minutes, essentially disabling all enemy electronics - and halving the enemies’ shields - on the battlefield for 25 seconds. This is to be used in desperate situations.
The tower would be strategically placed between the walls of a canyon (think Hemorrhage). Players who land on the top, plateaued sides of the canyon can infiltrate the sides of the tower from there, albeit it being only Floor 3. The flags are on Floor 5 and Floor 1 (in this case, the ground floor).
The landing strip towards the tower is seldom cover, mainly rocks and the like. The sides of the canyon, however, would present tunnels leading up to the plateaued sides. These would be great for Team B to ambush Team A.
Here’s a quick diagram I did (I might make a better one later):
Tell me what you guys think, this took a bit - I went overboard.
