Some Halo Fans

This is mainly a response to everyone who is hating on Halo 5.

343 has brought every Halo we all loved into one package in HD 60fps, with the exception of Halo 2 which still looks fantastic anyways. We have Halo 2 multiplayer back, Halo CE for the first time on Xbox Live, and Halo 3 in an improved state. We can relive the glory days of matchmaking and there’s even more included.

Then we get to Halo 5. I played the Halo 5 beta all weekend and I loved it, it was very fun and I welcome most of the changes. This is all mainly my opinion.

Smart Scope

  • This is what most see and immediately hate about halo. It looks like ADS so it IS ADS? Not at all. It’s a nice way of looking through the scope, and literally doesn’t change a thing about how you use the scope (Except for the AR, SS must be removed from the AR). I found myself using SS as much as I use the scope in every Halo, because using it in close combat, puts you at a disadvantage. How is a 4x scope on the BR useful when the enemy is within ~30ft of you? Remember, we can’t change the scopes on weapons.
  • Let’s also not forget how you can’t use it when being shot, just like Halo 2 and 3, what EVERYONE wanted.
    Thruster
  • Technically thruster is part of the Halo Universe, but was never really introduced until 4. I don’t know why some people say this copied COD. It’s a change of gameplay that we should welcome. I’d rather not have Halo be repetitive every new one they make.
  • However they should remove it when using SS, but thats entirely subjective.
    Sprint
  • This is just a change we are going to have to continue to accept. We see Master Chief run in cutscenes, so why shouldn’t we be able to? There’s no shield recharge when sprinting, so if someone sprints away from you, you chase them down and their shields haven’t changed and you’re still at the advantage (assuming they’re running away because you’re about to kill them).
    Clamber
  • I am both ways about this. It really does change how Halo is played, and adds less skill to getting around on maps. How will this affect Custom Games and Forge? Which is a big thing that makes Halo different from many other games, and fun.
    Ground Pound
  • This is something I see will hardly ever be used, at least in its current state. You can hear when someone is trying to use it, and if you time it right, just thruster out of the way, or just move really, and you have an easy kill.
  • Titanfall and Destiny has this. Not copying COD.
    Callouts
  • This is very useful for those times where you play by yourself in MM and no one talks. They can literally tell you the position of an enemy, and as long as you know every part of the map and what those areas are called (according to the radar), it can be very helpful. I’m pretty sure it only works when someone is shooting at the enemy.
  • However, you should look at it this way. Halo: Reach Spartans talked and used teamwork, so it makes sense that the same happens here. We aren’t playing as Master Chief, who never really talks at all. (except 4 of course)
  • This is just something i wouldn’t really care if it was removed or stayed in. It only makes MM more immersive.
I didn’t mention the charge melee thing or the slide because they didn’t really serve much purpose in the beta.

On top of all of this, 343 has returned what makes Halo MM…Halo. WEAPONS ON THE MAP
This is what made Halo 4 horrible. Halo 5 is more like 2 and 3 now. Map control, fighting for the power weapons, no loadouts. This game feels more like Halo than Halo 4. Learning the map is the key to being good once again. Know where the BR’s are located on the map, where the Power weapons are and rushing for them at the start of the game, knowing when the weapons spawn.

343 has brought us what we wanted with the MCC, now it’s time for a change, because without change…what would we have? COD? 343 owns Halo and we have to trust what they do with it. A true halo fan should be supporting 343 and what they do, not blindly throwing out comments without even listening or paying attention to what is going on.
They are actually listening now because Halo 5 is becoming more Halo than 4. If we took out all the changes they made, then there may as well not even be a Halo 5. If you want to argue about a change they made, then come up with a better idea, otherwise, you are making the whole Halo community look stupid

Just my thoughts about Halo 5, and a response to all you haters

That’s actually why fans (typically the most informed of the bunch) are in disfavor of it. It doesn’t fit nor make much sense and is visually upsetting.

Well judging from one of the other smart scope threads(Seriously does anyone want smart scope to stay) on here it looks like way more people (the ones who actually played it) are in favor of smart scope in the game and I for one agree with them. It fits just fine (it’s the shrinking amount of I DONT WANT CHANGE fans that don’t FIT anymore) and is way more visually appealing than previously.

Why though? The ADS look is in so many games, at least Halo’s was pretty unique.

I encourage those saying that the thruster ability is coped from COD to really watch ‘the sprint’ on the halo channel. It starts from January of 2014 and shows that these kind of features aren’t just added in, they are and were a fundemental part of development in Jan before COD:AW was even revealed to the public.
