Hello everybody! I’m super excited for Halo Infinite and can’t wait to explore the ring when the game comes out. I had a cool idea for some I guess you could call it endgame content or possibly just PVE stuff to do after you complete the campaign. I think it would be super cool if you could end up exploring the Halo ring itself after the campaign is over with your customized spartan. You could run around and assault various enemy outposts just for fun, or there could be a reward attached to completing them. These rewards could be cosmetics for multiplayer but I’d personally prefer that they weren’t randomized or anything.
There could also be weekly Firefight modes, kind of like how Gears 5 did the weekly Escape map that was different every week with a new map. Firefight could have a different mode every week ranging from just being super wacky, like a firefight with only grunt enemies, to super difficult where if your team gets wiped at all you lose instantly. Completing that weekly firefight mode would also award you a cool cosmetic or something.
Just some ideas I thought of to keep players hopefully engaged and give them something to come back to play every week. Let me know what you guys think and if you have any cool ideas as well!

That’s a pretty cool idea especially if it plays into the story in some way (IE: Master Chief ends up leaving the ring at the end of the campaign and the UNSC/ONI send teams to be stationed on the ring for “research purposes”). They then could easily implement your multiplayer Spartan into the mix while adding story expansions to allow the player to use their Spartan model (similar to Reach’s Noble 6). It would provide a very immersive experience and also fold it into the story at the same time.
I did enjoy Reach’s styled daily/weekly/monthly activities. MCC does something very similar and it does help keep you in the game in my opinion. Definitely need more user experience than what we had in H5…that’s for sure.

I think they had hinted at it being a game where you are rewarded for discovering more and more of the ring. If they do all of the above, it will basically be Destiny but with the Chief as your Character. I think they will keep the daily, weekly, monthly, & even seasonal challenges. We can only hope for the motherload of cannon that doesn’t stop.

I’ve never played Destiny…I was literally just trying to think of a way to implement your multiplayer character in place of S117. LOL
I can already hear peoples keyboards mashing with the “Stop copying other games/chasing trends!”.

A Destiny-like model wouldn’t be a particularly bad thing. The main issue I always had with Destiny was the fact that I felt like it was a lot of grind and no guarantee of a great reward at the end of the day. The social aspects and being able to travel a world and partake in events with other players was always fascinating to me. I feel like an open world Halo ring would be able to accomplish something like that very successfully.

I think the idea of having your player character occupying the ring after the main campaign is over would be a cool way to integrate a social/mmo like aspect into the game. I know a lot of people will say Halo should be an innovator and not just a follower, but realistically the games industry has been around for so long at this point it will only become harder and harder to come up with unique ideas that no one has ever thought of before. Halo can take some trends from other popular games and if they implement it well into the Halo gameplay and sandbox(which is the most important part and what makes Halo what it is) then I think we could have something special.
I think that’s a good idea, but it doesn’t need to be endgame content connected to the main story, just another game mode. Like GTA Online or RDR Online. Reuse the campaign map, spread some bosses here and there, tweak the enemies we’re supposed to find in each area and let we go wild playing with friends without any story progression constraints. I wouldn’t mind some dumb Destiny-like objectives like killing X enemies with the weapon Y to unlock reward Z, since that would not be the main campaign, just a casual PvE mode.

A mode like RDR Online or GTA online would be an awesome idea!
If they model the game like Destiny any further from what we saw on the demo, then its just going to be a copy. Not a bad thing for canons sake, but also, not very creative. If it becomes like Destiny then a lot of people are going to lose interest quickly because of plot holes and redundancy. I’m sure we will be able to travel to different planets too, like Destiny, but I just don’t want H6 to follow that game too closely.

I agree that they shouldn’t model the game too closely to Destiny. It would be cool for Halo to allow us to explore the ring after the campaign is done. If the ring is that expansive, then I think it would be a waste not to let players wander around in it afterwards. having activities to do would be necessary, but the rng loot aspect of Destiny is something I do not want to see in a Halo game. I believe that 343 has already said that the campaign will have a definite beginning, middle, and ending. My guess is that the campaign will follow a format similar to Gears 5, where we will travel eventually to different areas of the ring or different worlds altogether. But each area may be semi-open world or perhaps there will be more linear sections like past Halo games that bookend the open world segment on the ring.

that is a good idea, kind of like the arcade firefight in MCC. the rewards would probably be XP though not actual coatings and stuff
XP does seem like the more likely reward. It would be cool for them to make some exclusive coatings for weekly challenges but they have said they want to avoid the feeling of missing out on cool stuff. Maybe leveling up will give you credits to unlock armor coatings and other cosmetics like Reach did?

I like it. I was personally hoping to see a mode in multiplayer where you enter a lobby with other players, and it’d act like a sort of “hub” or passive multiplayer. Lemme explain.
Let’s say you’re customizing your Spartan in a base or ship or wherever customization takes place. Then, you have the option of actually walking around that base. And you’d have the option to leave, which would place you in an open and explorable area with other friendly players, where you can walk around and maybe find easter eggs and such, clear some respawning enemy bases, or partake in some live events happening on the ring. Sort of like destiny, but not a looter-shooter. You’d get experiece or credits or whatever for killing stuff, not enough for it to be an effective farm but enough for it to be worth your while. When you’re done or ready to play some real multiplayer, you’d go back to the base and select Arena or Firefight or whatever, and seamlessly enter the match. I think it’d be cool.

I don’t think Halo could ever be a copy of Destiny. Taking inspiration from certain elements, like semi-open world, is one thing. But Halo and Destiny are two different genres. Halo is an Arena-Shooter game. Kill stuff get points, and most of the game is pvp in terms of multiplayer. While I think it’d be a great thing for Halo to deepen the PvE experience in multiplayer by adding “Dungeons” in the form of Spartan Ops style missions, I don’t believe that it’d be a copy. Destiny is a looter-shooter, it’s essentially an fps MMO, something that Halo will never be. There’s a difference between having similar experiences in games and having two games just be copies of each other. One could say that Doom, Cod, Halo, and Destiny are all the same kind of game, but there are many factors at play and reasons why they aren’t.
