So far Halo Waypoint has not only been somehere to find Halo news or be in the forum but also to find other people’s fileshares’ or people in general, like a social media website. But there aren’t many other features than that.
But I won’t only mention features I’d like to have to make Waypoint into a social media but also other things that would make functions work a bit better and make the website a but more interesting.
Forums:
- Add a dislike button and dislike counter to posts/threads.- Add banners. (I know you can have something similar to a banner but banners would be a bit neat aswell).- inbox notification on a mention or comment to the thread.- A small emblem or color to notify who is the OP of the thread.- Halo related emotes ex. Mister Chief head (Optional. Not so needed but would be nice to have).- Add a poll creater (You can make a thread for polls but you can’t even make one, wut).Profile:
- Badge requirement list.- Custome banner or profile pic (achieved through forum activity or something similar).
Website:
- Add the option to have a darker version of the website. (I’d prefer a darker version because it doesn’t strain the eyes just as much)- Add MCC fileshare browser in the community section (which can have a search device that allows you to search for gametypes/maps/clips in categories).- Add a clan section where you can make your own clan/team. You can invite/remove players from it. It has it’s own profile and could be used for Halo 5 if it implements the same feature. It can also be ranked or unranked in the future if possible.- Add in a friends list. (Could easily be connected with the Xbox website since your account loggin already is).- Add in private chats with those in your Friends list. (If a message doesn’t come through if the person isn’t online the message can become a inbox message).- Add a fileshare Clip browser (you can view people’s fileshare videos within Waypoint but since you can’t put any videos there your DVR could work as a gateway if possible).- Add a Twitch browser (able to watch people under the Halo titles on Twitch aswell as a counter on the top streamer within those titles).- Add online indicator for website activity (So far the “Online” indicator is linked to your Xbox and is only activated once you’re online on the console)So far that’s all I’d like to have added to the website to make it a bit more interesting and “usefull”. Well at least in my opinion.
