some cool idea for Halo Infinite

Something i would like to see in halo 6 is if Cortana from halo 5 was fake and not the real one and maybe the Did act from Halo 4 possessed Cortana once he fell off the bridge at the end of halo 4 because he do sent want the mantle to go to humans and Cortana wants the mantle of responsibility but what if the Did act possessed Cortana to make sure that the forerunners still have the mantle and use the guardians to kill all the humans.

if you dont like this idea dont hate on it because its just an idea

That’s definitely an interesting idea.

Wouldn’t work storywise as Cortana is shown caring for the Chief and trying to convince him to join her. And then goes the extra step of trying to protect him. The Didact has no reason to like the Chief.

That would be an insane plot twist buuuuut as unfortunate as it is, the diadect is already dead even after halo 4, he was killed off in a comic, kinda lame if you ask me

Glad to see someone can spell the antagonist’s name correctly. Though as the idea of the Didact possessing anyone is interesting, I’d much prefer him to still be his own character. If it needs to be done as a twist, have the Didact lose most of his memory and have him convince himself to be the Warden Eternal.

I believe the Didact was composed in the comic, not killed off (canonical issues with his composition aside). So actually, it wouldn’t be much of a stretch for him to have stumbled into the domain after being composed. Once in the domain, he could have manipulated Cortana into becoming what she was in H5. This idea has the potential to correct a lot of the issues people have with Cortana’s portrayal in H5. With this explanation, 343 could go with “The Cortana we love is dead and this Cortana is just a Didact facade”.

I’m probably reading too much into it, but at one point in H5, Cortana was spouting a monologue that was eerily similar to the Didact’s speech at the end of H4. So perhaps that was a hint that the Didact was in fact the puppet master behind Cortana’s actions.

I would really love for them to have a split campaign for arbiter, and what i mean by that is to have one set of missions for him and the chief, so we can have back ground on arbiter. I think that would be awesome.

That’s what I’ve been thinking with a mix of logic plague. Calling it now, the created business (or at least Cortana) is dealt with in Infinite and Didact re-emerges at the end.

did they end up killing the didact in the comics? I’m curious on the route of the game. Chief, arbiter, and locke all fighting together could make for some sick action.

Given what we’ve seen of Halo Infinite’s aesthetic reversion to “Classic Halo,” as well as the almost unanimously negative reception to Halo 5’s campaign in particular, I would imagine 343i is going to step back from the plot thread and cliffhanger of Guardians as much as they possibly can in favor of providing something narratively “fresh” that doesn’t feel bound down by the melodrama of the 343i Chief/Cortana tragedy of Halo 4 and 5. That may or may not be for the better, and obviously they can’t entirely leave those plot threads dangling on account of how massive they’ve become, but I do believe they’re going to try to change gears in a big way in terms of tone, for better or worse.

Making a big deal in the story of Cortana’s rampancy or any possible relation it has to the Didact would definitely tie the game in thematically more with those prior games that I think 343’s trying to distance themselves from.
