Anyone else kinda disappointed about lack of effort put into the game? I mean, the game looks beautiful, i love how the armor looks, how the weapons sound, how the visors are actually not reflective and not super dull, etc.
However, there are some things that can easily be pointed out as a lack of effort being put in. For example, in Jorge’s armor kit, his left shoulder piece is STILL not textured after 6 MONTHS after release. 6 MONTHS? Come on, guys. Another small but mildly annoying problem is no collision. While being able to phase through teammates is good for when things get crowded, whats the point of having it if we can shoot through them? Multiple times have i accidently got killed because my teammate suddenly jumped in front my rockets, or i throw a nade that just bounces off of them and blows me up. Hopefully collision does end up coming back in S2 or soon, whatever soon means to the devs.
As for S2, another 6 months is really gonna be painful for everyone, much more than we think. New game modes are great, 2 new maps is ok, coop slightly delayed is not great, forge being 5’ish months away is really bad. The news about cross core in the season 1 outcomes feedback seems promising, but with no given date for when it will be possible for coatings, visors, etc, it seems like it will happen some time after S2, which does not look good either.
Also, with forge, should come Custom Games Browser, something that 5 implemented and was an absolute hit with the community making the game a bit more social, rather than having to add or message random strangers if they wanted to play. However I, to the best of my knowledge, don’t think its been mention at all in any form, which is very staggering for the community.
Speaking of community and socializing, Infinite has a major anti-socializing problem. In every game before, Halo had a pre-game/post-game lobby, and continuous lobbies, allowing people to socialize a bit before and after, and continue to play with each other, either for revenge or respect for a good team and fight. Infinite extremely lacks that which is kinda sad.
Also give me assassinations and playable elites. Assassinations have not been mentioned in almost a YEAR, was last mentioned in that podcast thing they did, talking about the multiplayer reveal trailer. And playable elites not being mentioned also since around the same time.
"" Back in March 2021, members of the 343 Industries team took part in an Ask343 stream in which the question was asked – “Will there be playable Elites in Halo Infinite?” The answer was, and is still, a very honest and transparent “no,” despite 343 knowing that this is something fans want. Quinn Delhoyo, Lead Sandbox Designer for Halo Infinite, answered by saying, “We’re not currently planning on supporting Elites as a playable character in Infinite.” Delhoyo put this down to the fact that Infinite is a “Spartan story,” focussed more on Master Chief and the Spartans’ battle mechanics. The team clearly didn’t want to detract from that by bringing back playable Elites. ""
Above is what i was talking about. An interview with Quinn Delhoyo, who WAS lead sandbox designer of Infinte, who left literally 5 DAYS after Infinite’s campaign release. Traitor left for Dr Disrespect’s stupid money grab nft based game only days after departing from 343.
