Solving the BR Crisis

Make it have the same reticle that Halo 3 has (No inner crosshair, only a wide empty “shell”)

Tone down the rate of fire between the bursts just a tad, BR standoffs just tend to be button mashing contests.

Decrease Bullet magnetism

Make it have a slightly larger spread.

AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
Make it a Burst Fire weapon, not a “Burst”(Basically a DMR) Fire weapon.
Pace the shots in between each burst so they don’t all get fired at the same time and hit the exact same spot.

And BAM!
You have a mid-ranged weapon that is meant for mid-range combat, and not for sniping people across map, Nor being able to 4 shot someone that has an SMG or AR at close range unless you have skill.
It also wouldn’t just be a carbon copy of the DMR!

br beats smgs and ars with a 4 shot which 75% luck
and there are no maps large enough for the dmr to be better on FACT because the br just outscopes them and gets hits around walls

Also, the DMR is useless with this little visibility. The scope covers way too much of the screen. You can’t track your target at all.

It really isn’t.

There’s a reason why a majority of the fanbase left the beta after BR starts, and its because the BR is too good and eliminates the need to pick up any other weapon other than better power weapons on map. The BR is too powerful, too precise, and worst of all, too easily accessible, considering you can spawn with it.

Phase 3 of the beta lets you start with an Assault Rifle AND a Battle Rifle, I would completely forget I had the AR if it weren’t for the fact you HAVE to start out with it equipped.
There’s just no denying it, You’re only handicapping yourself when you try to use an AR in BR starts.

The BR is fine. At close quarters, the AR can beat it most of the time. Thats good balancing

I don’t get the down sights either, not very Halo like at all. I thought Spartans had visors for aiming.

It was more or less pandering towards the “Modern” FPS community. The problem is that not only is the concept lore breaking, but game breaking too. Automatic weapons get a tighter spread, which was never something they were supposed to have, and scoped weapons, excluding the Sniper, don’t zoom in as much.

Honestly, I was indifferent to the idea at first, but now I’ve found that it just has more cons than pros, it needs to go.

If you are good enough to 4shot close up then you deserve a kill with BR

Up close BR 4 shot kill is very hard and very rare

AR will usually win in close fight

Except when the BR gets a 4 shot. That’s not good balancing.

I basically stopped playing after the BR starts, not because I’m not good with them, or because they’re over powered, but because it zeros out the variability in combat.

I like AR spawns, because it not only makes you search out for other weapons, but forces you to find better ground. With BR spawns, you don’t go out to find other weapons. You stick with the BR.

And the BR outclasses the AR in all playing fields. Either that or me and everyone else are just skilled with the BR. But, two shots and a melee BR will outlass a five shot and a melee from the AR. So 70% of the time the BR wins brawling close combat. In around close combat (3 meters and closer) the BR will win most of the time as well. For the fact that you can shoot 4-5 shots before the AR will dish out 16, which I believe is a kill with an AR.

But, to put it to rest, I would like to wish they have two different playlists for slayer.

MLG slayer, for everyone who likes BR spawns, since it seems they like those spawns better. Then Classic Slayer, that has AR spawns.

Either way, I can hold more than my own in both types of spawns, but I have more fun with the AR spawns because I’m more of a brawler type of player. I want to be up close and personal.

There is no “BR Crisis”. The only people complaining are those who want to run around with Assault Rifles and get easy kills. BR starts promote skillful play and the noobs are hating it.

Refer to both of my comments above,

There IS a BR Crisis, and its not about people wanting to use ARs, its about people wanting the BR to be MORE BALANCED. Even in AR starts the weapon fills in basically EVERY niche role, with the obvious exception of point blank range, but even then… (Slight Over exaggeration)

The point being, is that nobody wants to pick up anything other than the BR, because all other Tier 1 weapons are obsolete against it. BR only slayer tends to get boring after a while, because its just not that fun to use at the moment.

Alright, just wondering as when you said “kid” it sounded like you were trying to be specific to someone in the thread.
