So as everyone already knows there have a couple different people who are pulled data from Halo tracker based on the ranked playlists (this is important and I’ll get back to this later) and revealed that controller has an accuray advantage. 50th percentile controller players have almost the same accuracy as top 100 MnK players. In general controller players when compared to MnK players had a 10% accuracy advantage. A lot of PC players have suggested reducing aim assist overall. Full disclosure I am a controller player on Xbox one but I also own a PC and have played multiple PC shooters
This has not been well received as most of the weapon sandbox in Infinite is challenging and difficult to use for controller players. Getting a perfect with the Sidekick or Commando? Not common for console players even the good ones. Hell, there’s an achievement for a perfect with a commando and last I looked only 4% of the player base had got it. have yet to see a perfect for either of those in pro play. The same goes for heatwave, the bulldog, and almost all of the rest of the sandbox. Weapons are challenging to use and you really enjoy getting that perfect with a gun because you know you earned it.
However, there is one gun that has extreme amounts of aim assist and bullet magnetism (which PC players have) and is also a starting weapon in the ranked playlist. The battle rifle. Here’s one example below. I’m not going to spend a ton of time on this point because I think we can all agree it’s the easiest or most consistent feeling weapon.

Possible ways of reducing this difference include a reduction in aim assist stickieness or a reversion to flight values for the cone angle of aim assist. This solution hopefully fixes the weapon causing the accuracy advantage without making the rest of the sandbox feel bad to use.
