So, I was thinking about The Warden Eternal. He appears once in most Warzone maps and twice on Noctus but he’s probably the most controversial AI opponent in Warzone as often the winner or loser of a battle is decided by who kills the warden and, of course, stealing his kill is quite easy. Clearly, the whole situation is very emotional for many players. So here’s my idea for solving it.
This will make some of you laugh, why not have a lot more Wardens? Instead of one spawning, why not ten but with less health and less points. This fits in with his backstory and allows well co-ordinated teams to earn more points. This also removes the kill stealing problem. It was also be much more of a challenge as The Warden is often just swamped with Spartans, hammering him with various weapons and struggles to be a threat to all of them.
While it does suck to have the Warden Eternal kill stolen from your team, I think it’s kind of fun in that sense. You have a close game and once the Warden Eternal appears you know that EVERYONE is going to go after him. This makes the ending of the game much more chaotic which is what Warzone is supposed to be. I think it’d be better if maybe the Warden Eternal was made stronger than he currently is and maybe have stronger supports troops with him, -Yoink- would really get crazy. Just my two cents

That’s actually a brilliant idea. Spread a bunch of Wardens around the central area of the map and whoever kills the most Wardens gets the most points.
They should do that with AI in general, pepper some around the map in patrol patterns or something.
I like the idea, I would accept a (3) warden battle where they’re all 50vp. With as hard as the Hunters can be, I would like Legendary Hunters with ricochet shields or something cool.
I’m not sure if a cluster of Wardens is a good idea, or even better idea. Certainly sounds like it’s worth a shot though. However if they do have less health, it wont be too hard to take them all down one by one and still swamp them all. When I play with a coordinated group, we can get the current Warden down within a minute. Maybe have more Wardens, less points and the same health.

I think where multiple Wardens would be different is their ability to target and kill more Spartans at once. I also wouldn’t envision a big drop in health, perhaps 20% less. 12 Spartans vs. 10 Wardens if a different situation to 1 Warden vs. 12 Spartans.

> But your idea… I love this too. It would coorelate more with the campaign. And the fact that he’s a boring legendary boss.
I’ve been suggesting this for the last two months. I think it’s the best option to at least test and see how to works before making any drastic changes to the scoring system.
I’d like to see a greater number of all types of bosses, not just the warden. Or at least give them a bunch of support units to make the battle somewhat more dangerous. Right now, a boss just means that one team is going to get 150 free points without sacrificing much to get them. But if there were 3 or 4 basic wraiths guarding the tankmaster, those 150 points would be much better deserved.
Yeah, it is pretty easy to get some of these kills. Captain Hestro always seems pretty easy. I think they should really up the ante on the AI opponents.
Remove the HP bars from all gold bosses.
For Warden, I agree with you as it does fit into his character to be able to spawn multiples.
Add “bodyguards” for every gold boss to make the players earn it.
Make sure this boss doesn’t get killed stealed, me and my bud literally destroyed him with fuel rods then this guy on the enemy team used an ar and took the kill and led his team to victory which is so frustrating!!!
For point distribution, as stated above, divide the points among teams based on percentage of health taken. Why is this best? Longer games and tighter matches. When the score is 850 to 350, lets admit it, it’s just kind of boring in each direction. When you reach 1000 points before you even get REQ level 7, it’s boring. Split the points, BUT REQ level gains need to be faster. Every game should end with max REQ points for some good time so people can use their high level REQs for longer than 10 seconds.
For commendation farmers. Getting some of these kills to max out a commendation is pretty damn rough. Solution: Make it less black and white, split out each “kill” into a progress bar of 100% per kill. You took 20% of Haestro’s health? You’re 20% into your next Phaeton kill. You invested heavily into that scorpion to take on Warden, and ended up taking a whopping 65% of his health? You’re now 65% into a warden kill on your commendation and you made a 97 point contribution to your team’s score. This encourages all players to spend time attacking the bosses instead of just waiting for the last 2% health. Even new players with no REQs can at least get 5% maybe even 10% progress towards Warden with their starter weapons and be in a culture that participates in boss kills rather than sniping them.
I have sniped every kill I have on warden using an SMG/BR/DMR. It shouldn’t be doable. I don’t feel shame in doing it because I’m a commendation farmer and this is the current system, but I would like it to change.
