Solutions in Search of a Problem?

343 have made a number of changes to the Halo experience. Some of them seem to be changes that nobody asked for. They are the type of things that new players may not care about but returning players will more likely respond negatively to.

It’s as if 343 decided they needed to make changes just to put their “stamp” on the Halo experience. But in the process they alienate an important part of the player base. And it’s over things that if they had just left the same, nobody would notice.

Some of these unnecessary changes that nobody asked for:

  1. Two-hit kills with flag/oddball
  2. No player collision
  3. Changes to motion tracker making it basically useless
  4. Plasma pistols not stopping vehicles
  5. ???

What are some unnecessary changes that you have observed?

Removing player collision is absolutely a solution in search of a problem. There’s no way the feedback is substantively split on this matter. The game is strictly worse with player collision disabled.

I do think two-hit kills with the flag/oddball is weird for social, but I believe that’s always been the competitive setting in previous games.
