If they put in the halo 50 ranking system that decayed over time it would solve the problem of people buying accounts because they would lose it if they didn’t play and if they did play they would lose it cos they suck.
It needed a solution?
Bad players lost. Good players won.
But they made a new one anyways.
Yawn, no 1-50 period, everytime someone makes a thread like this a baby gets a splinter in its big toe

There is a NO chance of seeing 1-50. But there may be a valid replacement.

Valid replacement fail.

Dude can I borrow your time machine sometime
this is not a solution. If you wanted to delevel all you would have to do is not play in your idea.

Not unless the number is seperate from the trueskill rank and is related to it.
For example, a guy with a trueskill of 25 can’t get a 50, but if a 50 doesn’t play long enough, he’ll drop back down to 25, yet still get paired with similar 50s.
You literally just asked for a worse version of arena with a different name and numbering system. Nope.
Either 1-50 as it was, or something completely new.
Dude can I borrow your time machine sometime
No, but I just got back and the future sucks.

Aw man, you did get the lotto numbers though right?
1-50 is too bourgeois, man!
Aw man, you did get the lotto numbers though right?
Yeah I did, force of habbit. I’m a gazillionare already, so I don’t need it. And I’m not telling.
No one knows why frankie does this. He gets everyone in a tizzy about something he feels is right and won’t listen, no matter how hard you try to tell him. Sometimes he’s right, but people don’t remember those times. They only remember when he is wrong due to human nature, so he couldn’t possibly care about anything, let alone the millions of fans that got him there.
You would be prone to a certain amount of grandstanding too. You make a game that pretty much brings matchmaking to the general public and see how much of a halo you see in the mirror when you wake up to shave your head in the morning, afternoon or whatever. And then to top it off the game you make you are not adept at, go into matchmaking and you lose to people trying to relive the ranks because they want a new mu and sigma, after that see how much you want to propagate off of BPR, trust me you would too.
The truth is they will never give us our BR back no matter how much they tell you in a making of trailer that it is back they will still tune it to be a 6,7 or 8 shot kill at most ranges. Even though the rest of the world loves the games that are one shot kills because the pacing is so fast, it’s not fair and that is the type of game they make so how do we stick to the same formula while tuning things better at the same time. It’s not as easy as spilling plates on top of a stick, it’s worse.
Even though all you have to do is give all the features of the previous game and make them better like theater halo 3 vs reach. Halo 3 wasn’t broken, but what do I know. And what do I really know, office politics at microsoft? “Ha ha you can’t outsell call of duty why are we funding you.” Imagine hearing that from someone who pretty much has the rights to tear up your contract.
So people will drop the BR in place of a weapon with bloom aka the dmr. The DMR’s bloom will be decreased to the point of non existent. People will grow disinterested well before then and go onto other games while the true believers will wait for the humility that will never come. Microsoft will drop halo in place of COD like they have wanted to for so long.
-People that want the pistol from halo CE back will never get it in matchmaking.
-The BR will never return. They will mess up the sniper so bad it will clip online and they will blame it on connection/host.
-We will never get a ranking system like halo 3.
-The theater will only allow for one player to watch games instead of with a party.
But that’s the cost of progress. Game design is a pain. Oh and spectator mode? Probably not.
Why does everyone stress “1-50” all the time. It could be 1-10,000, or A-Z for all I care. It doesn’t matter so long as the skill of winning games is involved heavily in HOW you get there.
I do, however, really like the idea of it decaying over time. One thing the Arena actually brought to the table that made SENSE was how you had to prove time and time again that you deserve your rank. And a decaying rank in Halo 4 would mean that if you just get a 50 and stop playing ranked, you lose your 50 unless you keep at it.
That’s not to say it should decay quickly or anything, if it decayed like 1 rank per week that would be adequate.
By the sound of the halo 4 ranking system it seems like its going to be just halo reach with no thought process involved
A ranking system is all i ask, something like the ranking system in Halo 3 would be nice. However a new game means new ideas so its not impossible that there will be a new ranking system if there is going to be one at all.
