Solution to SPRINT!!

Don’t use it…
I don’t like it so I don’t use it and then laugh at the noobs who feed me kills…

A counterargument barely needs to even be given for why this is a bad idea since it’s so obvious. Forcing players to gimp themselves doesn’t work in multiplayer games. Ever.

Ok…

But it doesn’t gimp you it gimps the other players because they are sacrificing there small reaction time…

If you think springting gimps you you need to try playing without sprint its a world of a difference.

You almost become god mode for how quick your shields recharge after fights

Solution to war…

Don’t kill people yourself.

OMG OP we just figure out world peace.

You sir, are a genius.

It’s quite naive to say that just never sprinting is better. Running circles around the map with no shields is idiotic, sure. But no one does that. You use sprint to quickly get behind a wall then wait for your shields. This is far more effective than doing it without sprint like you would have to in older Halos which is why running and hiding was less common than standing and fighting.

That’s all fine and good. It however doesn’t solve the awful maps designed. Not only made for these new abilities but the art design is awful, how could they not notice the blinding sunlight on Orion or that blue team has a high advantage on Eden and some areas of truth. No map has made me feel like wow this is great, they play slow. They lack the chaos of previous halo maps.

The solution to sprint is not having it as the main mechanic to so call ‘speed up game play’. It is well designed maps mainly the ones designed for h2a, they have useful environmental mechanics available to aid or hinder. The explosive crates and falling ice in lockdown for example. Unique advantage points and so on. I was hoping this art design would flow over to halo 5, unfortunately not. Sprint in halo will only work if it is minor speed increase 10% on top of what you already travel and if 343i played the old maps they would realise this. They need to make maps awesome for halo 5. But their love of sprint in its original state is killing halo.

It’s not bad when you yourself use it, it’s when other people use it to run away from gun fights. Not sure how not using puts you at any sort of advantage, more of a disadvantage really.
