Solution to REQ RNG

The REQ Wishlist.

The idea
Every week you will be able to select up to three (permanent) REQ’s to go on your “Wishlist”. Items on your wishlist will essentially have a higher chance off appearing in req packs. An item being on your wishlist for consecutive weeks will increase your chances of that card appearing to a cap.

Why would you suggest this madness?

Because even in the current state, most players will be unable to unlock all the items, let alone all the additional items. This means that it is quite feasible for someone to not be ever able to get their desired helmet, even if that helmet is only a common or an uncommon. Allowing people to twist rng to their favour to a slight degree helps take away some of the randomness, as pure RNG can be a real pain. Just look at destiny.

But wait wont that devalue rarer items?

Items on your wishlist have a higher chance of appearing compared to items of the same rarity.
E.g Say I add a Legendary Fotus helmet to my wishlist. The chance of me getting legendary items doesn’t increase at all, but the chance of a legendary Item I get being fotus increases.
It wont make getting a legendary or mythic any more common. Just when you do get one its more likely its one on your wishlist.

So what do you people think of this idea? If you have any questions/ flaws with it please comment as I feel like the REQ system is on a whole fun, but can be fustratng due to rng.

Cool; but nah, just buy silver cards first; then once you’ve filled up all your permanent unable from rare & below, start buying gold.

Got my first armor mod last night (Enhanced Sensors) because I’m running out of common-uncommon cosmetic unlocks, have ALL the vehicles and ALL the weapons (common - rare)

Maybe “most players being unable to unlock all items” is as it should be. It’s supposed to be a challenge. It’s supposed to drive you to play more. And in the end who really cares if there are a couple of things you just never get lucky and unlock? If you get too wound up about it then you’re letting your vanity get the better of you.

You’re… Librarian…

they will not remove RNG off the REQ system… i have seen this exact “deck of cards” setup before and despite the complains and obvious Moral issues (its aimed at compulsive gambling behaviors hardwired into the brain in some people) they never fixed it nor got in trouble for it.

it was more of a challenge when you had to complete objectives to gain unlocks… with the req system you can bypass all challenge with money.

Luck should almost never be a factor in video games… there should always be a way to get something you want or need.

Not being able to get all the items is fine, but I don’t see anything wrong with letting you skew rng in your favour for a cosmetic.
Arguing “I don’t care so neither should you” is just obnoxious.

This wouldn’t guarantee that you would get these items immediately or anything, just help you get it eventually.

Personally I would prefer some kind of priority system

  • You cannot get a modified version of something (loadout, power weapons, armor) until you get the default one
  • DMR should be easier to get then a sentinel BR
  • Once you get 30+ of the same item, other items of the same rarity should be priorised
  • Once you get an armor piece, you have higher chance of getting the other part
    etc.

I would prefer you know an actual leveling/unlock system instead of awful req bs that’s only there to push micro trans

A very nice and well rounded Idea. I think one card per week per type, say rare uncommon, legendary and so on.

How do you know when you have unlocked all permanent rare cards?

Lazy way- Buy a silver pack. If you dont get a single permanent, youve got all the rares.
