Solution to quitters

  1. One thing they definitely need is an option to finish the match early when someone has quit the team.
Something similar to destiny’s mercy rule except only comes into effect when someone has quit and your team is getting destroyed.
It could pop with and option on the spawn screen and give the player the option indicate there intention to finish match early. If a majority of the remaining team votes to end early then the match finishes.

I guess the penalty would still be the same i.e counts as a loss.

  1. The other way this could be solved is allow join in progress but the person joining has incentive to win the match i.e. it would count the win towards there rank but if lost it wouldn’t de-rank you. Plus they could give bonus XP to the player when they join in progress.

Forfeit Option for ranked play. Mercy Rule for unranked.

Sounds good, I’ll say though that the score would have to be at a point where the team couldn’t possibly come back from. This would work well In warzone matches as well even though you can join a game in progress the end early option would make it a bit more enjoyable.

I have a better solution: kill them… Kill them all…

I’ll get the torches and pitchforks.

This sounds good. Yeah I don’t think you want a situation where the match just ends without you having a say.

Lol. As you prob know that actually didn’t turn out so well for them.

Any kind of forfeit option would be nice, but only if you’re down 2v4. If you could forfeit a match at 3v4 games would never finish. I supposed a voting option would be nice where everyone has to agree to quit, but it might be better if you could just quit - still get the loss, but not at the expense of getting spawn killed. There are games where you know it’s just hopeless. Very demoralizing to suffer through them.

Or, people could just not quit.

Quitters should only get matched up with other quitters.

Well depends on the game mode. In a capture flag 3 vs 4 can be extremely hard. In Slayer however 3 vs 4 can still be very viable. Maybe its different thresholds for different modes. But yeah the option to end the match early would always be a majority vote. The main thing is you want to get through the game and onto the next with a full team not drag out sometimes 13mins of pain.

I agree, the amount of quitters is ridiculous

I want to see a quitters pool get made. Habitual quitters should have to constantly play with other quitters.

How about rounding them up each month and then put them in a Warzone map with no weapons against all others who don’t quit who start off with Scorpions, sniper rifles and rockets? Let them experience 12 minutes of constant spawn kills. Oh the irony…

You know I used to not give quitters a quarter but honestly I’m starting to understand that mentality. Some have network problem then other times its like a waterfall. Your team falls behind then someone leaves out of the blue. Then you have to pick up their slack without getting killed extra times. Sometimes it works out but usually the gameplay slows down, you get double-teamed more and then you start to even wonder why are you even bothering to stay in this game and get murdered some more just to maybe pull off a win. Its not worth it especially when it gets to 3v4 or more uneven. Today I played a game where it was 1v4. I was on the 4-man team but I honestly wouldn’t have blamed the guy for leaving after the first two left. Something needs to be done to balance the quits. Forget the quiters, there needs to be something for the team afterwards.

Why not just add new players to the game mid-session like in Battlefield? You’ll never be able to stop quitting or network issues or an angry mother who turns the console off on her sedentary, repugnant 12 year-old thug. But if matchmaking prioritized games to fill vacant slots on teams that are short it would make everything more enjoyable. I can’t think of any cons, can anyone else?

Where’s the petition? How do I sign it?

In CTF 3v4 the forfeit option should still be there. Specially if the other 2 players in your team aren’t at the same level.

No one wants to stick around for an -Yoink- raping. The matchmaking system needs to create better matchups and have a more accurate skill index for players. It’s a game. It’s about having fun. Why stay if you’re not having fun? At that point it’s a chore.

How unrealistic of you. People are gonna quit, no matter how hard you punish them. 343 needs to start putting systems in place to soften the blow for players on the quitters team.
