Solution to problem when teammates leave

I’m not sure if this has been suggested before for Halo 4 but it most likely has been and I just can’t find it.

So do you guys think Industry 343 should replace how teammate matchmaking works when teammates leave in the middle of the game? What I noticed about most other (at least the ones I played) first person shooter is that when players leave the game, someone else can come into the game.

Why am I bringing this up?

For several weeks now I’ve been trolled in about half of the games I enter in Halo Reach. In Slayers sometimes I would have 1-2 people on the team not responding and not actually at the controller. That makes 2 of us vs 4 and they virtually have indefinite upper hand. It’s frustrating when 4 of them jump up and down in front of your screen and shoot you from every angle with their power weapons. In most cases however, I would have 1-2 people leave. Sometimes even 3! So what do I do? I try to play out the game because if I leave I get PENALIZED and banned for 10min when almost nobody is on my team! So what does the score end up looking like? 1 kill and 30 death if I decide to stay in the game. This is absurdly frustrating and significantly diminishes the fairness and fun of the game. This happens in big team death match too! Someone always leave! one time it was 2 vs 8

So why don’t I leave? The problem is that this has been happening so frequently that I’m forced to leave a game to the point now that for every other game… someone would leave my team and if I leave I get banned. For 4 consecutive days now I haven’t been able to get into 2 games without someone not leaving.

Another weird thing that has been happening is that while my game loads, I would get kicked out of the game because apparently the system thinks I quit. I check my comcast internet and it’s virtually fine. I don’t know if its xbox live’s end or my end that’s doing this. Or perhaps someone figured out a way to lag us out of a game. But either way, I get penalized and banned for 10 minutes.

Solutions?
Halo 4 can do what other first person shooters do and replace our teammates that leave. Penalize them if you will but at least give us another player on our team to make the game fair?
Any other opinion? Solutions?

Actually 343 has confirmed that this feature will be available in some playlists.

It’s already been confirmed to be in the game…

Woops double post.

This.

It’s great how 343i are really satisfying everyone.

You know what else it should have?

I’m not sure how easy or hard this would be to implement, but there should be some kind of autobalancing feature.

So many times you’re left with 2 vs 4, especially in an objective game. Auto balancing could take a player from the team of 4 and switch him to the team of 2, making it a more fair 3 on 3.

Of course, most people wouldn’t want to be autobalanced into a losing team, and might quit anyway… which would make the effort to autobalance that game somewhat pointless.

Already there dude.

It’s a great idea. But if I were switched, after all my effort, kills and hard work, onto the opposite team, I’d probably quit or start betraying. That’d be frustrating as yoink.
