Solution to friendly fire

REMOVE IT

Why allow anyone to betray at all?

To make players learn that you can’t run around firing rockets at anything with a pulse.

I mean, you can…

Removing friendly fire would be blasphemy. Don’t kill your teammates, it’s a very easy thing to do. If you accidentally do it, no big deal. If you’re trolling, you will be booted.

Why don’t you back up a claim “blasphemy” how?

Take off friendly fire

Considering friendly fire has been a part of the Halo multiplayer universe for over a decade, one would think the the development teams over the years have kept it for a reason.

It can only cause teamkilling and most servers on Halo CE don’t have FF turned on
Why allow for teamkilling at all? COD doesn’t have it unless you play hardcore modes
Most games don’t have FF

Heres a scenario I want someone to give me the answer to

>Fire rocket at friendly tank

Will the vehicle explode killing the driver?

Well if it’s removed players will just form tactics based off of that.

Shooting sniper bullets through your team mates to kill enemies, sticking your friend as he runs at a group of enemies, shooting rockets into a crowd without thinking, making it so your team mates can create a smoke screen of grenades you can run on and your enemies can cower away from.

It would get frustrating whenever employed.

Shooting sniper bullets through team mates? Really? no

Sticking your friend as he runs at a group of enemies, get an achievement like COD or challenge

Shooting rockets into a crowd without thinking? So?

Making it so your team mates can create a smoke screen of grenades you can run on and your enemies can cower away from? Really?? Limited grenades and limited smoke screen from grenades

really what is the reason for having FF

Remvoing friendly fire from Halo is literally the only thing that’ll ever make me rage. Oh, and the ability to -Yoink!-.

Having to deal with friendly fire adds another dynamic to the game which requires more SKILL.

I think most Halo players will agree that’s a good thing.

> really what is the reason for having FF

Dude if FF is seriously that big a deal to you, you need to either change your playstyle or pick a different game because there will always be FF in Halo.

If FF bothers you so much, why don’t you just play something else that doesn’t have it?

I really don’t understand the controversy about removing friendly fire. If we removed friendly fire, you wouldn’t have to worry about being betrayed by your teammates or get harassed for a power weapon or vehicle. I wish we would could have friendly fire but there are too many people in the online community who are immature and will do it on purpose.

After all, about half of all betrayals I have ever experienced in Halo were clearly on purpose, and half of the time I never got an option to boot them. Friendly fire just doesn’t work in online multiplayer.

It never happens because people aren’t big at sniping their team mates.

It shouldn’t be an achievement, players shouldn’t have a “damage radius” around them that hurts everyone they’re trying to kill.

There’s something called “skill”, part of it requires “situational awareness”, you also shouldn’t be able to save your lesser skilled team mates by shooting a rocket at them and killing anyone who’s currently about to kill them, at the very least it should be a kill trade.

It’s giving him a cone of protection that is unfair, same as the second reply.

It’s a lot harder to kill a teammate accidentally on Halo than it is on CoD. So that is the main reason why CoD has it turned off. Also, because of killstreaks?

If you really don’t want any FF, go play Living Dead.

Friendly Fire punishes players who don’t pay attention to their team. It needs to stay.

Now, one thing I would like to see them do is adjust scoring so that Betrayals count statistically as a death for the Betrayer, not the Betrayed.

As well, it should only remove from your individual score, not from your team’s score. (As well as take points away from the Ordinance Drop meter)

You shouldn’t have to worry about getting betrayed if you surround yourself with mature players.
