Recently, there have been a few forum posts cropping up about the state of the Halo Wars 2’s playerbase and gamemodes.
I have a solution to the current issue of Halo Wars 2 having to cut back on a number of gamemodes. Forgive me if someone has already stated this, but I am proposing that 343 Industries makes a set annual schedule for Rotational Gamemodes. By rotating gamemodes, you can keep the number of ques low and increase the playerbase for each gamemode. Halo Wars 2 can keep the same number of gamemodes as it is on live servers for PC and Xbox One, but this way everyone will get their preferred gamemode at a given timeframe (Ex.Unranked 1v1’s are playable between May and July). 343 Industries can give players a set schedule, so that way they know when their gamemode will be taken out or reintroduced.
If I missed anything or didn’t clarify feel free to ask or add on to this.

No solution to something without a problem. If you want more game modes play 5. RTS is meant to be straight battles and destroying bases to win (deathmatch). If that isn’t enough for you then RTS probly isn’t your thing.

there are more RTS game modes then just Team Deathmatch.
I would personally like for them to Implement a FFA Playlist or even Multi-Team and if they want to go crazy Diplomacy.

no -Yoink-
But do they add to the game? mostly not IMO.
Ok, I admit multi-team would be pretty cool, or like a three player 1s deathmatch or something (more than two teams) but, you seem, that changes the game at it’s core it isn’t just another gimmick of a game mode like blitz (yes, it is just a cash grab, and with infinite level cap and MTs increasing level markedly faster than normal play the devs and publisher have killed the case for their own mode).
I hope you see the difference

Hey man, thanks for the response.
Looks like you may have misunderstood my post so allow me to elaborate. Like many others on this forum, I am very passionate about Halo Wars 2, but to some players, that passion manifests itself in a lot of different ways. The health and competitive integrity of Halo Wars 2 is very important to me. Finding a balance between the two can be tricky at times. On top of that there seems to be a pretty deep split between players who enjoy blitz/fast-paced gamemodes and those who find it aggressively distasteful.
I myself do prefer the classic standard 1v1 deathmatch gamemode. I would also be content with only a standard 1v1 gamemode considering that is the majority of what I play and enjoy. That being said, I understand why 343 Industries made the other gamemodes, and I respect and also enjoy them. Unfortunately, your assumption of me would be incorrect. On a side note, if you were to take 5 seconds and look up my account you would find that I am diamond 5 in standard 1v1s and that I primarily play that gamemode. I have also been playing all kinds of RTS video games for over a decade. I think I would know by now if I disliked RTS.
Moving on to the topic, I do believe there is an issue due to the fact that some of the Halo Wars 2 community have brought up the lack of unranked standard 1v1s. Others have also brought up Team and Solo gamemodes. They find it disappointing and would like to play that gamemode without being forced to create a custom match. I am trying to respect both players who enjoy the standard gamemode and those who enjoy the more fast-based, accelerated gamemodes. With that in mind, I thought by implementing Rotational Gamemodes or Seasonal Gamemodes this would fix this issue. I do not know how difficult it would be for 343 Industries to accomplish this, but on paper, it does not seem too unrealistic.
Example: 343 Industries states, " We will be temporarily removing the unranked team war gamemode for the unranked standard 1v1 gamemode between May and July. We will be reintroducing the unranked team war gamemode but removing the unranked standard 1v1 gamemode between August and October."
Should rotating gamemodes be considered for Halo Wars 2? If so, has 343 Industries stated they are going to be implementing rotating gamemodes? Do they even need to rotate gamemodes for the Xbox One community?
