They could totally redeem themselves in my books if they just announced that the campaign will have blood and some mild swearing… I’m not even that mad about Co-Op or Forge, but the fact they lied about Co-Op is filling everyone with so much doubt now. Things change sure, but they could have just said " we are working on it as a priority" before stating it as a fact for release day. Just put blood in the game I say.

People are assuming they knowingly knew they were going to “lie”. Technical issues obviously came up and it seems like they were last minute. They don’t get a pass however it does happen like that.

True. I’m not particularly complaining about it here, just stating the fact. It’s hard to trust someone when they start breaking promises and 343 does not have a good track record with game launches as it is.

The original person who said that Co-op would be there at launch was Chris Lee, Joseph Staten replaced Chris and from what I understand took the entire campaign a different direction. This was due to the sub-par standards MS and fans expect that they took this different direction.
Who knows when they realized Co-op wasn’t ready. And I can’t blame Joseph for Chris’ words but 343i and people like Bonnie Ross are ultimately responsible regardless of what changed along the way. It is possible that Joseph and team saw the timeline of Co-op and knew it would need more time but MS leadership simply told them we want the game released by Christmas regardless of Co-op.
Thats partly why I said that just stating they would have Halo Infinite out Holiday 2021 (dates that are determined by MS) put them in this situation because if you delay now it’s like delaying people’s Christmas present this year and so we are left in this ‘no solution for all’ reality.

Someone at the top with 343i or MS should have caught this and demanded change or fired the leaders who weren’t holding the expected standards.
