I just now watched a video of ninja the -Yoink!- (tyler) talking about halo 5 wishlist etc blabla lets get to the point
I am myself a strong opposer to sprint in halo. It’s lame, i hate it and it passively negatively impacts halo mechanics.
So I just had a completely random thought of a annoying guy running away back to his teammates with no shields an came up with a solution, almost like an epiphany,
What if, Sprint is ONLY usable with full shields. Thats right. No more annoying -Yoinks!- who run away from a fight because they don’t know how to position themselves, or how to aim. Now, these two examples of annoying habits sprint embodies seem competitive and you wouldn’t really mind this in a Social (casual) playlist, right?
What if this rule was only implemented on ANY PLAYLIST THAT GIVES YOU RANKING POINTS.
I for one would be completely fine with sprint being like this and I am very eager to hear the communities opinion.
Have -Yoink- the bed with this one or is it actually a plausible idea?
Also, the ranking playlists could also have smaller maps dedicated for ranked and competitive play.

Then why not just rebuild the maps so we don’t have to sprint to meet the other team due to bad design, then remove sprint? If they were usable with full shields only, then there would be no point in them, unless you’re running from someone with bad aim or something, but like I said, it’s about how they build them maps and they could easily tweak our base movement speed and jump height… Sprint would be made useless easily.

I had a 500+ person poll going about sprint. People don’t want an alternative, they either want it in or out. The community is full of people who aren’t willing to compromise. I cam up with the same idea you just had a while ago. Along with several other alternatives that would solve the problem.
I’d rather have it only useable when you are not one shot. But I’m fine with sprint anyway, I don’t think its the death of Halo like some people over exaggerate it to be.

That won’t really help because it’s not the cowards run that is the true problem. It’s 1 weapons down and 2 it brings with it larger maps. The longer sight paths being the largest part of the problem of Sprint.
