Solo

This has probably been brought up a million times but I don’t have the time to read all forums posts ever.

Why is there no solo queue settings? I play solo 99% of the time in Halo 5. Searching solo should mean that you only play against others, playing solo. Done.

This is the only (edit: Halo) game I’ve lost more than won. Usually when you’re good and solo you can help the team by just knowing the game. You can’t in Halo 5 because you get matched up with 4 people communicating.

I don’t care if I win, that was just an example. But it’s just so stupid.

Edit: Also, I don’t have any friends so don’t give me the “team up with friends”-argument. I don’t have any and you shouldn’t need to have people to play with. (Even though it’s more fun). That’s all I had to share. Thank you for listening.

Yeah this has been requested multiple times over the forums, I too would like to see this implemented in future Halo games, it might be too late for H5 but we might see it.

You could try playing BTB, or even FFA. It’s true, I matched against teams all the time, but that’s what 343i wanted: a competitive experience, which was highly requested from us because of Halo 4.

I like to play solo sometimes, but don’t like that every time I go to a match I get people in the same party for my team, making it impossible to communicate with them.

I only have a couple friends that play so I’m going in solo most games. It does get frustrating at times, but it’s not like it’s every game I’m going against teams.
I’ve all but stopped playing ranked. I stick to social and WZ mostly and it’s not too bad going in solo or with a buddy. I’m all for solo playlists though.

Yeah well, if they have five of eight people communicating in the other team, they still win. I’ve met 8 people solo search in BTB too. FFA is fun, yes. But after I get a rank, matchmaking gets slow and I don’t want to play only FFA.

What I mean is that you shouldn’t get stepped on because you enjoy playing solo. Halo is not only for HCS, then they wouldn’t make any money, if only pros played it. Halo has (until H5) been a social game (well MLG has always been around but you get the point.) , with split-screen, etc… But as HCS grow I guess they need to focus on different things.

Yeah in the beginning I played most ranked, now it’s almost only social or warzone. I enjoy warzone because then it’s more rare to get matched against a full team. I ofc enjoy social and even ranked… But the point is that there should be a setting for solo players.

No friends? :frowning: I go solo too, but I have friends.

You won’t see it.

I know we won’t but I just say these things to reassure people.

LOL, that made my morning.

There’s a part in there explaining why 343I won’t do solo queue and why it’s bad. I wouldn’t care if there was one soical solo queue playlist but they shouldn’t be in ranked. I happen to agree with what 343I put here.

Thanks for the link.

I read it, and saying that 3v3 people can’t find matches at all in that case is bs… Well not bs, but it’s because of the minimum party size, (which they can change) I’ve played countless of 3v3 in 4v4 playlists in Halo 3. It worked like a charm and the matches started faster. But since they have the minimum party size to 4 (for example)… Ofc it’s going to effect 3v3. Because that’s not an option.

Had they put 3 as minimum size. Problem solved.

But if what they’re saying is true, about the new system. Then, good. We’ll see how that works out!

Did I seriously see someone say the lack of solo searching and team based matchmaking equals competive play? That couldn’t be any more wrong. That’s just an unbalanced mess and is the exact opposite of competive play.

@op: it’s been an issue since the start. I don’t play solo unless it’s warzone as I can get away with it more often in there. However I know it’s no fun getting creamed vs a team and I also know it’s no fun playing with a team and creaming other players. Those 20-50 games aren’t fun, they lack intensity and are just easy breezes and if you’re the team with 20 it’s an infuriating experience that turns you away from touching the game like I have. I’ve come to the conclusion that either 343 never thought this through, or the population is so bad that a solo/team based matchmaking just can’t work. Both are bad nevertheless.

Been wanting solo queue since launch. Maybe the population is too low at this point to be able to properly support it, I don’t know. Hoping for H6.

Hey hmu and I’ll play! Add me

Agreed.

Also what you’re saying about being a team and just massacre the other team… That’s no fun. The fun games are the ones that end 50-49. And casual games where you just relax and go with the flow.

I don’t know about the population. They say that they hid it because it actually has a negative effect on itself. But I feel like there’s more people playing Halo 5 than Halo 4. I feel a positive vibe from H5, but this solo thing obviously doesn’t work and can’t be added because of their own choices.

BTB isn’t a great place for solo players. You’ll still run into plenty of parties all the time.

I thought this was going to be about Han Solo. Better luck next time kid.

Playing solo is a nightmare, thats why i can only play for a little while before getting off.
