Solo Warzone Players

Friends,

This thread is not about farming. Much wow. Such surprise.

Anyways, I’m trying to see if any of my fellow solo warzone players have faced the issue I’ve been facing the last month or two.

The issue I’m facing is an absurdly high number of join in progress games. Playing with friends, I will never join a game in progress. But playing solo I’d say i get a join in progress (AKA:JIP) game maybe 3 times for every 1 start to finish game.

I plan on making a more detailed thread later and potentially raise awareness of the “issue.”

Because I got more replies than I thought I would, here is a question:

If you are experiencing a high number of join in progress games, do you feel it detracts from your warzone experience?

Thanks for your time in advance.

Yep. Very rarely will I get a game that isn’t JIP. Generally the JIP matches are either in the very beginning, before the first base is even captured, or in the middle of a game. Most of the time its recoverable, atleast for me, but still annoying none the less.

Edit to address OP’s question:

Yes, it very much does. It stresses me out way more than a normal match because I have to work so much harder to make sure our team wins. And being stressed means I’ll play less Halo.

Only yesterday, I think I played 9 games, and most of them was Join in Progress, most of them were right at the beginning of the match and a couple of them was my team being ahead of the other and some was behind the others.
But I have noticed a lot of people seem to DC recently(In the last week actually), not quit, but straight out disconnect. Or at least I hope so, it wouldn’t make much sense to quit right after pulling out high REQ requirement vehicles or weapons.

I’d say when I solo I only get JIP about 1 in 4 times

It’s about a 50/50 for me, sometimes I’ll get lucky and start a few in a row, I think as long as you stay in the lobby you have better odds of starting rather than JIP

It seems to make no difference for me.

I was running Focused and seemed to have two out of every three matches be a JIP against a team. I switched to expanded and I’ve had about three in the last couple weeks. Keep in mind this is purely anecdotal, but going from 5 or 6 out of 8 matches being JIP to 3 or four out of 50 or so is a big difference in my opinion.

I have played all but around 20 games solo, and I would say around 30% of my Warzone matches are join in progress

Happens all the time. As a side note, it’s even worse in Overwatch. I’d say 1 in 3 in Warzone is JIP when I’m solo. 2 out of 3 in Overwatch when solo.

Doesn’t happen often. But inevitably it puts me in a losing game. the latest was I think yesterday and it put me in a match 3 seconds before all three bases were capped. I just immediately went and hid till it was over. I only had to wait 3 or 4 minutes tops. I’m done trying to take on a whole team when we are obviously out matched. do I always hide? No. But I have gotten good when being able to tell its over.

Switching to expanded only made my games worse, as they were JIP and laggy. Focused only made the waiting time longer. I’ve actually not been playing halo as often as I used to, because playing in a JiP match is so stressful because of how hard I need to work just to recover, because most of the time the reason its a JIP is because someone left because they are losing.

That tells me that Overwatch has a lot of quitters. That makes me smile just a little.

Not usually. I tend to play wz assault more though

It does for me. And it makes sense - if a group of people have just finished a game, there will be players available for a new game. It’s not foolproof, but definitely helps.

I run a lot of solo and, while I do get the occasional jip, most of mine are not. I’d remember too because I absolutely hate Jip with a passion.

I haven’t had that many, but I’m only playing in the evening say 6-9 or 10 EDT. Maybe it depends on time of day and how many games are ongoing. I will say what sucks is playing on weekends and getting on a team of randoms matched up against a proper fire team, but that’s my fault for not doing the same myself with my company.

They really need to implement what TitanFall and COD have and that is you don’t hurt in your stats for joinng a losing match. What they REALLY need to do is allow you to use as many REQs as you like without actually burning them when joining a losing match. That would really encourage people to take up the fight. If I could join a losing match and start by spawning a banshee with no worry about wasting it. Wow. It could change the direction of the match. Imagine 2 guys joining and using The Answer with no fear of wasting it.

i havent played a ton of warzone but i have moreso in the last few days. I’m pretty sure i havent actually had a JIP match yet. is this for regular warzone or assault that you’re noticing it more?

Regular warzone as I do not play assault.

I only play on the weekends now cause I got work during weekdays, but I’ve noticed that the amount of games I get JIPd into has certainly increased (More than 50/50 for sure and over 90% of the time it’ll be on the losing team). I’ll quit immediately if the team I join is down by 100+ points cause chances are we are missing a couple players anyways. Also dont want to waste my nice reqs cause its just not fun playing for a team already destined to lose. Frankly its also ruining my Win/Loss stats.

I’ve been playing on focused though, so might try and mix it up to expanded. I do feel your pain OP, you def aren’t the only one out there dealing with the struggle. Good luck tho bro, hopefully it works out!
