For the Solo War playlist (1 vs. 1 Deathmatch) I always gets maps that are designed to be 3 vs. 3 maps (in ten games I’ve gotten ten 3 vs. 3 sized maps). The maps are so large it takes forever to move units around and find each other’s bases. What should be a fairly quick game always turns into 30-45 minute rounds of hide and seek as both players keep building extra bases all over the map almost as quickly as they can be destroyed. The 1 vs. 1 playlist should only use 1 vs. 1 maps. That’s how it works in Solo Blitz, so why should Solo Deathmatch be any different? The current setup is making me avoid entering the Solo War que altogether, which is a shame because in Halo Wars 1 it was one of my favorite game modes.
