I don’t mean to start here on a sour note. I am unhappy with the solo experience offered in halo 5. I feel the dev team is catering way too much to party players, which is unfortunate because most of my friends play a variety of other games and it seems tougher than ever to have even one person to group search with. 343 please do something to address this issue because I love halo, always, but as a self described “normal gamer”, I’m feeling disenfranchised.

Yeah you’re prolly right dude. I just feel the solo play aspect in H5 should be improved upon. I am really not a fan of 6 player FFA.

I’m also a solo player, and while I personally still have fun, I get where you’re coming from. I hope there’s a firefight solo too, but I’ll admit I’ll be just fine if it’s multi only.
As a sidenote if you’d like to party up add me. I’ve been doing multi team a lot lately and it would be fun to have an intentional team mate to communicate with.
You know what else would be nice? If you would help these settlements that need your help. Here, I’ll mark them on your map.

Agreed. Solo firefight was awesome before, but with friends it is better imo. That said, I still believe what I believe about armor- we should have the choice.

I’m pretty sure we have that already for solo? It was one of the VERY few things included with this game when it was released. Though, to be fair, you are involuntarily assigned 3 AI teammates when you play it.

Campaign, all you had to say, which is similar but not what I’m referring to. A round/wave, solo focused game mode is what I mean, to be a bit more specific.

I agree though, ODST’s survival FF is definitely the best iteration of FF to-date.

I agree, ODST’s firefight was the best of it. Considering I payed 5$ for ODST on MCC because I waited and got the H5 Xbox, and I am so disappointed that it was not included.
I agree firefight should be much more like fighting for survival than an arcade-style experience. In fact, the same goes for campaign. The problem is really that 343 are too eager to make the player an unstoppable force with Spartan abilities etc. That’s what I liked about Reach and ODST… You felt like the underdog, and it was reflected in both the gameplay and the art style.
There should be a solo firefight mode. It’d be epic and is very much needed. No offense to you all but I don’t prefer playing with other people. This while 8 players thing doesn’t seem right

It would be great a firefight in custom games where you can choose the numbers of waves, lives, the weapons, the difficulty, … So like this you will be able to play in solo or with your friends only

Ah, I see the misunderstanding now. My understanding is that form of “Firefight” is not what we are going to see, not for solo, not for 8 players, not that at all.
Rather, I heard that what we are going to see is an 8 player game mode with tons of AI where the team must complete a set of specific objectives (a set taken from thousands of possible combinations so that it’ll almost never be the same game twice).
So, to the extent that the object is to complete specific tasks, rather than a simple survivor mode, it’s basically the same as campaign if solo was an option.

I read your explanation there to be perceptually accurate, but seemed a little hostile earlier lol. That version of firefight just seems disappointing, from my point of view; 343 is making a lot of wrong turns.
