Soldiers in Mantises

I believe that they are overpowered. Anyone else?

It takes a coordinated effort and big guns to tackle a big gun. At first I thought they were overpowered, but now I think they are fine as is.

I agree with the whole team effort thing but I play with randoms and earlier we managed to destroy one mantis and that was because I was in an ONI Mantis and someone kept EMPing the mantis.

EMP and tank is a good combo.

The best way is voids tear and scourges of fire.

If one person could take it down without at least “some” help from their team it would throw off the balancing. One person could pull the weight of the entire team for a win.

5 minutes to kill 3 legendary mantises on mythic difficulty before anyone has any significant firepower, whats overpowered about that?

Basically this.

I mean these types of bosses are there to encourage teamwork. And while yes playing with randoms causes issues with this, does not mean they are overpowered. However it does show you that this game was designed around teamwork, regardless of how many limits 343 puts on fireteams to cater to the solo players.

are hard only if you and you team wanna kill with “normal” weapons

It’s frustrating when playing solo with randoms and the team is uncoordinated but when working as a team, the mantises (manti?) Really become no match.

I absolutely hate the stupid health regen, it makes no sense and is not fair!

Depends… with the fast regenerating health it can be very difficult to take them down alone in a tank. But 2 tanks or 1 tank and pp always works

They go down very easily if the entire team actually brings out REQs, in Warzone Slayer, conventional firearms and explosives work fine. But in Warzone Firefight, if the team doesn’t bring out any REQs, they’re very difficult to defeat, especially if Mythics spawned after.

I bring in a plasma pistol or Spartan laser depending on what other players have. If someone has a big gun I will EMP it so they can destroy it. If no one has anything that will bring it down I grab the laser to bring its health down.
Another random weapon to bring in is The Answer, it deals a lot of damage in those cases.

I got the legendary soldier Mantis objective in Legendary Firefight last night and feel like I was the only one dealing damage on the things. It’s certainly tough, but coordinated groups shouldn’t have a problem with it.

Use voids tear to stun the mantis while your teammates focus fire on it.

They shouldn’t be able to regenerate there health in Firefight its a joke

Before the nerf to them in terms of difficulty and accuracy, I would have agreed to this statement. Nowadays, all you really need is something like an end game or a tank to take them down.

Bosses in WZ overall only regenerate health respective to their vehicle’s damage taken. So if you do either consistent or large chunks of damage, you should be fine.
