I play the multiplayer to chill and hang with friends. I enjoy completing the challenges and progressing the battle pass too. That said, I want almost nothing to do with the sweaty, try-hard game mode that is ranked.
Ranked definitely has its place in this game and its own audience. It’s a key part of any FPS that wants to attract a serious gaming crowd. However, there are a lot of people that are not in that audience, myself included, and I for one do not appreciate being soft-forced into playing it if I want to complete my challenges.
I appreciate the work that is going in to updating and improving the challenges and progression system, but why is ranked hard-locked as one of the challenges? So far with the new update, I’ve consistently had some sort of ranked related challenge forcing me into that game mode. This wouldn’t be that big a deal if I could swap out of them, but every swap I’ve used has rolled it to a different “ranked” themed challenge.
Is this a bug or is 343 trying to feed more players into that mode? Has anyone else run into this and what are your thoughts?
