Why is it that there’s no social game mode for regular 4v4 gameplay? I feel like this being absent is a very negative aspect of the status quo with regards to matchmaking. If I don’t wanna play ranked but I wanna play a vanilla 4v4 game mode I have no options.
Why not have a mode where you play objective and slayer games in the social playlist? I don’t feel like that would be a detriment to the playlist choices, and it would get me on more since I don’t play ranked as much since I play alone lately. I’d like to think that this would be true for other players who avoid ranked without a team like myself, and therefore just don’t play halo as much as we used to. Plus, I don’t always wanna get sweaty and serious when I’m playing CTF or Slayer, so there’s that too.
There was at one point. It was called Social Skirmish. But the problem with it was that, for the most part, it wasn’t any less competitive than its ranked counterpart, sometimes even more so thanks to the looser restrictions. So you’d get sweaty and serious just to keep from getting steamrolled.
I’d rather have social skirmish back than have both HCS and team arena in ranked. Just get rid of one of those and put social skirmish back. The best part of social skirmish was that it had more map/gametype combos than team arena or HCS. It also makes playing with friends who have different skill levels much easier so people don’t have to make even more smurf accounts just to enjoy 4v4 gameplay.
