Social playlists?

Does anyone know if 343 industries are planning on bringing in any social/unranked playlists? I do really enjoy the current playlists and the ranking system associated with them, but I would also enjoy some playlists where I don’t necessarily have to worry about winning or even doing well. Just to mess around in or warm up in.

Agreed I enjoyed social playlist cause if you wanted to have a night of parting knowing you wouldn’t play good you could just play social and not ruin your K/D or W/L.

There’s absolutely no reason to have so-called “SOCIAL” playlists; especially, any that would duplicate existing game types without the refinement searching effects that CSR provide as that’s just unnecessarily fracturing the player base which only ends up harming the matchmaking system. The skill based matchmaking (SBMM) will be almost exactly the same since all Xbox games use Microsoft’s TrueSkill system for pairing similarly skilled players together (Halo 5: Guardians is no different). The only differences would be that the matchmaking system would have less refinement (game type related) toward the searching process, there’d be no visual aid regarding how well you compare or stack up to others within a playlist (other player CSRs can’t be viewed prior to the match anyways), and there’d be less incentive for players to focus on team oriented goals within a match. Playing a more relaxed game is simply a mindset people choose to take into whatever game they’re playing; it’s not something a playlist dictates.

what if i want a good “true skill ranking” so therefore i want a place to practice in a 4v4 environment before entering into arena slayer against try hards?

I disagree. Some days my mindset is I want to win and some days my mindset is I just want to play and have fun. How has halo accomodated that in the past? Ranked and unranked playlists. Also I sometimes want to play with my friends that are not as good at this game (outside of warzone). They don’t enjoy facing onyx players when they are gold and I don’t enjoy forcing my team in basically a 3 v 4 situation. This is such a basic feature of halo that is MISSING. You could argue that there will be a similar issue as CSR will still be used for matching but if my friend goes -17 who cares I’m not pushing to get onyx in an unranked playlist.

For people with friends of all similar skill then social playlists only add a warmup playlist and I can understand why you might not see the need.

I commend 343 with making halo more competitive but warzone can’t be the only option for casual play when you already have the small amount of playlists at or near the top of your skill level.

If my vote matered I would vote for a single social playlist and NOT one for each ranked playlist.

this is another reason to have social playlists

both as a place to practice for hardcore ranked lists, and as a place to escape from hardcore ranked play lists

If it was a vote, I’d like some sort of unranked list.

So far I’ve been using arena and breakout as playlists that I don’t mind not winning in with my less-skilled friends while I aim for higher ranks in slayer and swat.

Social would also open up opportunity for more ‘fun’ gametypes like infection and rocket races.

there is a poll in one thread

90% of the voters want social playlists, only 10% voted against it…
i wonder why
