For my first game of the day I decided to hop on a game of BTB.
To make a long story short, we got owned.
At the end I saw their ranks were between 149-151 (I’m 50).
How is this considered “social”?
I know the ranks are mixed in social playlists… but damn, that was not fun at all.
SR doesn’t necessarily reflect skill. Also it’s online gaming not every match is going to be perfectly balanced match. it’s social so it just makes games by available players essentially.
I’ve been having fun with it. To me it feels more like Halo used to feel, complete with people screwing around.

+This. We got owned by a super low rank a couple of matches ago. It happens.

Exactly. You might be level 152 and only be silver 6/gold 1
In my opinion, social SHOULD have complete blowouts every now and then. It should have more lax settings on skill parameters so it has this “every dog has his day” mentality.

Exactly what I was thinking, up until now halo 5 never really felt like halo, now the social playlists are here I’m having lots of fun with all the messing about and -Yoink- like the old games

So true…I’m a 144…and I have yet to “stomp” on anyone lol.
I get so much hate mail saying I’m purposely throwing the game because I’m a 144 and should do better.

Thats good, and you are free to feel how you want about it. Just remember that in the end, it’s a game, and don’t let it faze you. Don’t let that kill your drive to win though.

Feels like the old days! I got betrayed in a Ranked Sniper match (which turned into a mini team fight) and I started laughing, I hadn’t seen anybody messing around in a long time, it felt refreshing after all these serious matches! Even with the constant quitters, I’m still enjoying myself.

That really only works for people in the mid to high skill ranges. People at the bottom of the skill range are much, much less likely to be put into a situation where they can pubstomp their enemies.
To me, a Champion should never be matched with or against a Bronze (premade fireteams being exceptions).
