All in fair warning; this post will contain excessive b*tching…
Alright, to start I need to say that 343i are failing when it comes to the social playlists. To fix the still competative nature of the whopping three social playlists I have a few ideas:
1.) Match us up with like skilled players, I know it’s social so you’d think the skill paremeter shouldn’t matter but it really makes all the difference. Getting matched against noobs, they get rped. Getting matched with pros, you get rped. Even if it’s social we need skill based matches!
2.) They need to disable post game stats, excluding your teams overall score. It’s not social if you still can see how good/bad you did, only who won and what their score is should matter.
3.) Every gametype needs to have a seperate section for competative and social play. If a social player wants to play Slayer they shouldn’t have to play in a competative playlist with competative people, and vise-versa for the competative crowd.
4.) Disable quit ban, it’s social, not to be taken seriously. If you lose because of your team mates quitting well you’re playing social so it shouldn’t matter.
All in all we need improvements. Comment below on whether you agree or disagree and why. (If you give hate I’m just going to ignore your comment.)
just remove the invisible ranking system and it’ll be fixed.
because now you’re -Yoink!-ed after you’r invisible placement matches.
i played 2 G’s against Silvers/golds, 3 G’s agianst Golds/Plats, 2 G’s against plats and daimoinds and the rest was up and down against daimond and onyx.
and now I’m always locked against a full team of onyx players.
I really miss the days where I could play some social G’s with friends that wearn’t as good as me and still have a good time, because now they have to swallow some onyx -Yoink- when they’re playing with me
best thing to do now is to play bad in you’re 10 invisible placement matches.

If playing bad is the only work around then I’ve already accomplished that lol. 343 could learn a lot about social matchmaking from the older Halos but they refuse.
by playing bad I mean die 3 to 4 times every game empty 1 pistol clip in the air or 10% on a spartan and then play hide and seek in those 10 “social” placement matches.
I did this with a secondary account and it works so yeah I know what I’m gonna do when this season ends.

you need to this when a new season starts or when there is a new social playlist say for example Social shotty snipers.

Yeah I’m gonna have to from now on just to enjoy Halo.
I think the reason why social gets so many sweaty players is because they see it as an easy way to pad their stats. If they made it so that social matches affect your stats at all, most of them would leave and it then the playlist really would be social.

Yeah that kinda goes along with “turn off post game stats”. I like Halo for the fun not the competative nature of all of it.

Yes, but you can’t have fun if the teams aren’t fair and you are constantly getting destroyed.

But there’s matching making in those playlists. Also, that was the thing that people complain the most about, the fact that there IS matchmaking.

Honestly I don’t think the precision weapons are what’s hurting it. People get slapped around a lot by more accurate players though, which is why I think social needs to be more tightly skill based even if you can’t see your skill.
I’ve always thought that social playlists shouldn’t have stat tracking. It would deter the sweaty stat padders and gives a lobby where one can relax and experiment with their load out rather than play hard all the time.

Ah. this makes sense to me. I can see why people want this.
