yet again, the try-hands of competitive gaming ruin something that’s supposed to be fun. Competive teams should not be allowed to play social games. They obviously use it as practice and absolutely ruin and fun this gave may have offered. Yet again people who take things WAY too seriously take the fun out of a hobby for normal people. It’s especially awesome when these guys know the EXACT timing of weapon spawns, so my team gets cornered by FOUR sniper rifles. Even better is when they capture the flag, take it to their base, and not score it so they can rack up their unearned kills. Good job. Their matching emblems were adorable though.
I see a lot of people use social to boos their stats. Separating social and ranked stats might help.

This. If “social” game stats such as KD, wins/losses, etc were removed completely from player profiles then we may see a change in how these games are played.
The problem is that every social playlist does not have a ranked counterpart. I truly believe that competitive people do want to play ranked playlists, it’s just that 343i refuses to look at how successful Halo 3’s model was. If people want to play Assault right now they are forced into the social playlist, even if they don’t want to play that way. Likewise, people that want to play SWAT socially cannot and are forced to play it ranked. Giving each playlist a ranked and social varient would allow people to play how they wanted. Halo 3 was very close to this system, and IMO it had the best division in population. We all know that 343i won’t do it though, they don’t want people to have fun.

LOL the roast is real. Will admit I find it stupid how your K/d or Win/loss ratio is affected by social playlists. Makes no sense whatsoever. Also would be nice if they removed the hidden ranks as well because I partied up with a Diamond 1 and we got destroyed every griffball game.
Unless you remove all stats and put in hidden ranks, nothing is really going to change. A good fireteam is just going to jump in and beat everyone below them.
you know going to be a rough game when they have matching gamertags

It just makes their inevitable beatdown all the more gratifying.

I’m sure it was a blast for the guys getting 25+ kills.

Assault is not just social. Also part of team arena mix.

So they can’t have fun?
Also, how can you be sure they’re not playing relaxed and laid back?
The only thing I agree with is object holding (which I made a suggestion that could potentially somewhat deter that behaviour), otherwise I find it absurd that good players shouldn’t be allowed to play social because they’re good.
“Good players are not allowed to have fun, they’re not allowed to play in groups, my fun is far more important than their fun”.

Wait what?
Why? who are you to determine what some people can or can not play? they paid for the game, they should be able to play whatever they want.
If you dont like it here are your options:
1.- Git Gud
2.- Play with a group
3.- QQ more.

I find it hilarious that people actually think timing power weapons is “uber-tryhard” nowadays. It just goes to show how much 343i has dumbed down the population. Back in Halo 3 and Reach, I knew every timer on every map and made sure I had a BR and a Sniper in my hands as often as I could. With the addition of global objectives in Halo 4 and 5 and the random spawns in Halo 4, weapon timing is near impossible and only the casuals who are horrible will benefit.

I beat a team with matching emblems 50-24 last night so try being better at the game or finding players who also like to win. Nobody plays with the mindset to lose, and just because you lost to a team that was better than you doesn’t mean it’s the playlist’s fault.

Exactly, people forgot about that because on H4 they could get free power weapons and unfair kills by gettign their ordinance (wich didnt reset on deaths) so any semblance of strategy and MAP CONTROL was thrown out of the window.
Also it seems people think Social means that the enemy will just run aroudn the map not trying to win and let them selves be killed over and over, because if they actually try to win then they are tryhards.
This crybabies are a joke.

QFT. Combine this with complete removal of stats and a few other tweaks then we’d have the social playlist that the community asked for in the first place.

Lmao @ this answer.
I said this the other day on here, but the reason why Social appears to be so “sweaty” is because Social is actually ranked guys. Social in Halo 5 is not social, you’re constantly matching people on your skill level. For instance, look at my profile and look at my highest rank achieved. When I was playing that playlist (as I do with every other playlist currently) the only players I matched were other Champions and Onyxes. You have to treat it like the other ranked playlist, otherwise you’re going to lose every game.

This would solve most of the trouble.

i hate how people think social means you shouldn’t be able to play well…
OMG dude get a grip, your just jealous you cant dominate others in a ‘social’ playlist like they did…
if you could, you would too.

Well weapons spawn basically every 2 minutes. Not so hard to time (apart from the fact that there’s an announcer telling you when they spawn). I understand that it’s annoying when people are stating (not scoring flags, etc…) but to ban them from Social is a ridiculous suggestion.
