Let’s be honest, who wants to play oddball and CTF over Slayer? Betting most people just want slayer. I don’t mind a grab bag but slayer should probably be 2/3. Played for 2 hours the other day and never touched slayer once. This will just cause leavers and afk.
I haven’t noticed that it’s quite so bad but the objective gametypes are showing up a lot more often than I’d expect for a series that’s been wrangling with objective vs. slayer popularity for at least 17 years.
Try being a social FFA player who doesn’t even have a playlist right now.
I hope we can at least get a social slayer and FFA playlist on top of 4v4. Alternatively give Slayer more weight in Quick Play.
Oh and pls bring back a full time multiteam playlist
Also SWAT and off-beat gametypes like Fiesta. They’re really playing it conservatively and I expect the other playlists to ship later but when the problem is simply adding playlists to a Halo game that’ve been in the rotation for a LONG time then I don’t see the point to making the game appear small.
I’m guessing this will only be for the beta and hopefully the standard game mode choices will be back at launch. I’m having a huge problem already with people playing the objective games like slayer so hopefully it does change on launch.
YES to Multiteam! Best playlist ever. Ya no FFA was mind boggling to me.
Problem with too many playlists is that it can split up your player base which means harder ques and matchmaking issues.
I agree but since the multiplayer is already free that shouldn’t really be a huge issue though.
All comes down to numbers, right? 25k in slayer. 2k in oddball. Now try to do a “fair match” matchmaking and someone quits for oddball. Definately will have its impact regardless if it is free or not I’m thinking.
I find it disheartening that the game was released with barely any playlist identity, it especially sucks when people need to play a specific mode for a challenge.
Yeah it confuses me as to why they didn’t follow what the MCC does. Also, missing game modes? Again? I thought they would have learned from Halo 5’s release that people want swat, infection, koth, etc. 343 listens to player feedback but they just forget about it later anyways.
It sounds like 343 is reactive - and not proactive in their game development which can feel painfully slow.
