You realize that, up to this point, the problem with the social playlists has been the hidden skill-matching, right? Onyx players are not playing with gold players. There is still skill-matching, unless they quietly changed it in this update.
What is your definition of normal players?
I play everyday for at least an hour. Am I normal?
Despite being social the game still tries to match you against players of equal skill. I believe that makes the playlist less social.

Being a "casual"my self, the game does match me up with players far better than I. just practice. It helps.

So much salt.
There are currently 3 social playlists: BTB, Assault, and Griffball. A lot of higher rank players probably hop in social to warm up, or go social when they’re playing solo, problem with social is you can be playing against any skill level, ranked you’re at least more likely to play people who are closer to your own skill level.

Except it is for normal players, its just that youre not a normal player. This isn’t an insult, just a fact - as a whole, the majority of the playing population are ranked higher than bronze/silver, so you can’t really be annoyed if its common that you get matched with players that are ranked higher than you (although I’m sceptical that you’re regularly getting matched against Onyx players, even in social). If you want more strict mathmaking, and want to play against other people at your level, why not play more games in ranked play? What youre asking for is the exact opposite of social for normal players, its social for players at the bronze/silver level, which would make it a playlist for a highly selective group. And, well, theres already ranked play for that.

It wouldn’t stop them, they’d just make new accounts.
So does social have hidden skill ranking or not? I’m diamond in ranked arena play lists and social seems about the same level to me, perhaps slightly easier but that might just be because it’s 5v5 and total carnage most of the time.

Yep. The hidden ranks are bullcrap for the social playlists. Anytime i play social its usually just feels like im playing ranked. I gotta play all the “tryhards” when im just trying to sit back and chill.
OP is totally right though. They need ACTUAL SOCIAL PLAYLISTS! My friend literally sold his game and xbox one due to this exact issue. Hes a below average player and he could hardly enjoy playing because he was constantly playing difficult matches.
My friend also hated playing with me, which really sucked for both of. Because my account had a higher hidden rank so it would bring in the harder matches and he couldnt handle it. He would go neg basically every match.
Get rid of the hidden ranks. Let us match up against every type of skillset in social.
So please… Tell me how its a “social” playlist when i cant even enjoy it with my friends who arent as good at the game? I join thwir fireteam and it makes the matches harder on them… Thats bs for social.

Most of the players who are better than you aren’t “low lives”. They’re just naturally better at the game than you are.
