Hello!
This is an issue that I’ve been thinking about for a while and it really hasn’t mattered until this point when social and casual gamemodes start showing up for real.
As it stands right now both social games and ranked games fall under the arena category. That is kind of fine. BUT, social and ranked share the same statistics. For some people K/D matters a lot and a LOAD of companies use your K/D as a reason to let you join or not join their companies. My suggestion is that just as Warzone has it’s own statistics page I think social and ranked arena games should be categorized individually and not together. Instead of calling it Arena we split that one category into two. Social and Ranked. That way the lists won’t look so crowded (as it surely will pretty soon).
Point two. Rulesets. Ranked play should have strict rules. These same very rules apply to all gamemodes categorized as Arena. Social gamemodes should have less strict rules. Grifball comes to mind and I’ve posted in another thread about this. If you betray anyone by mistake or by will two times in a row, that person will be able to boot you. Three betrayals in a row will end up in a boot. Two boots from Grifball will result in a ban. Yes, you didn’t misread. You will get BANNED. In a social gamemode, where betrayals WILL happen. It’s Grifball for the love of the Precursors! This of course applies to social BTB, Fiesta and every other social gamemode there is. IMO the set of rules should change for these modes as it is a lot more likely that mistakes will happen when people play casually. Especially in Grifball.
Thoughts and opinions? Go all in!
Cheers
