Social And Ranked Stats Separate

I just saw a thread talking about how Team Skirmish was too sweaty and needed to have a fire team size limit to prevent boosting stats.

Let me just tell you this is a horrible solution to this problem.

Social and Ranked stats need to be separated. There are too many teams of 4 Onyx+ Players farming low level players for easy kills to make their KD’S/KDA’S good.

Halo 3 had a split for Social and Ranked stats, please 343 next update, I don’t want to be spawn killed in Grifball and sweated out in various SOCIAL playlists. Make this happen.

I’m surprised they haven’t done this already. You should post this on /r/halo for more exposure.

I agree with the OP 100%. The other option is to make them invisible to all except the user.

Don’t have an account on there, help me out?

Yeah this is an option, but tbh I think this is almost as bad as fireteam size limitations because I don’t know about anyone else but I love to see other players stats in social playlists.

For example I might of had played a game with this perosn who did really good in an infection game and I was wondering what their KD is or how much they played of that playlist and their most useful weapon, with this option I wouldn’t be able to that.

Either remove stat-tracking in social playlists or separate them from each other I agree.

Thats seems like a good idea. IMO I rather have the option to disable stat-tracking in social playlist overall but keeping it invisible sounds like a good idea.

All very valid points. This is something I have wanted for years, I hope your thread gets the attention this topic deserves. The main reason I support you is because of your OP, too many players use social playlists to pad stats. I’m in total support :+1:

I doubt this will get anymore replies because im not known on here since I barely use it but thank you.

Besides stat separation, team based matchmaking would also be a benefit as it will limit teams matching solo players and stomping them into the ground.

I saw that thread and the anwser isn’t to make it harder for friends to play with each other by limiting fireteam sizes but to actually match players vs others accordingly, there’s to many negatives killing the use of teams, may as well play battlefield or destiny if halo is going to say -Yoink- it to using teams.

Does anyone really play for stat boosting when they can see individual playlist kdas for ranked playlists? You can’t influence your team arena kda with team skirmish games. These casual arena games might affect overall kda, but zero onyx players I know give a crap about their overall kda anyways, they’re just playing social playlists to chill. What’s sad is that people will claim that a playlist is too sweaty if they’re struggling in it. They think that they should win easily because it’s social but they problem is that someone always has to win the match and there’s almost always going to be someone better than you in any given playlist, even if they aren’t trying. If people would stop caring that they lost and just relax and enjoy the fact that ranks don’t decrease they’d have a lot more fun.

Unless the just “Xbox take a screenshot” and share it that way.

I don’t think separate stats will do anything honestly. Not every 4man team is stat boosting. Some people just want to completely beat down the other team, it happens.

It certainly wouldn’t remove the problem entirely, but I believe it would help. It removes an incentive to be sweaty in social, and I think there are less people who pubstomp low rankers in social just of the fun of it than there are those who seek to farm or increase their K/D or win/loss ratios.
Combining separate stat tracking with other things, like team size matchmaking, would probably be even more effective, but I’m not sure if changing the priorities for matchmaking wouldn’t introduce new kinds of problems, like laggy games or longer MM times.

Doesn’t social still have hidden ranks after X amount of matches? Or did that go away with the update?

I agree. I’d also love for them to somehow integrate the stats system they have here into the game.

It does, but social matchmaking is looser with SBMM than ranked. Which is to be expected, but it should probably be tightened a bit. Matching an average of 1 tier below or above your own makes sense to me; anything beyond that seems too unbalanced for an enjoyable game.

I suppose I should go read the play list description before I post, but Team Skirmish should be listed as UNRANKED and “offer a chance to test your abilities against players of various skill levels that you would not normally encounter in Ranked play”. Because that’s what it is. For lesser skilled players like myself this usually means trying to learn to play better while often getting wrecked. For higher skilled players it offers the opportunity to kick back, relax, and get extra, easy kills. It’s just the nature of the play list. Since I’m usually solo it’s actually a relief to go back to ranked and get a fair chance to go positive against Golds and Plats. Although it can get discouraging I appreciate the chance to test myself and see just how good some players are.

All that being said, I do think the hidden MMR could do a better job of finding even match ups. The other day I took seven losses right off the start before I got a win. I know it’s not about winning but come on, 1-7? I know for a fact there are groups of Onyx players running as teams and I don’t get the need to stroke their egos like that. There’s even the occasional smurf with an SR barely in the double digits getting a 20 KDA. In an unranked, social list. I guess one of the wonders of the anonymous internet is that it gives individuals who feel weak IRL a place to feel strong, but I’m getting too deep. I do agree that comparing stats for ranked and unranked makes no sense and they shouldn’t be mixed, because it just skews the data and widens the gap.

Different play lists represent vastly different entertainment opportunities depending on the skill level of the player involved.
