So You Mean To Tell Me...

That the Prometheans… Are made out of dead people?

I am now scared of these Prometheans.

Zombie robots?

Copying the Mechromancer from Borderlands 2. Cancelling pre-order tomorrow.

I see dead prometheans…and I’m ready to whoop their -Yoink-!

> I see dead prometheans…and I’m ready to whoop their -Yoink!-!

The fact that they’re composed of dead Forerunners sends shivers up my spine. I was wondering what those organic arms were doing sticking out of them…

Im right behind you on that. Spartan Ops get ready.

Not exactly dead… I perfer the term refurbished and implanted. The knights are supposedly the transferred memories of dying/ infected (forerunners had a drug to slow down the process of the flood infection) promethean warriors into a knight AI. They are not as powerful as the actual warriors for the forerunners feared them being hijacked and used against them and the knights don’t have full control of themselves because they have to:

  1. Follow protocol
  2. Obey their superiors
  3. Always engage in battle and never answer to the enemy

They probably don’t or can’t talk because the forerunners don’t want info leaked to the flood. This is all that I’ve been able to piece together from the books and whats been said by 343 and Greg Bear. So I don’t have a direct source.

EDIT- As for those arms… I’m going to guess that’s for handling small technology, activating buttons/levers, or those are the corpse’s reanimated shriveled arms which explains why they twitch.

Hope this helps

Undead are only damaged by slicing weapons, skeletons are only damaged by blunt weapons.

Halo Meets Walking Dead !!!

Let’s Go

Correct.

So the Didact may have complete control over his partially dead army of refurbished AI/Forerunners. And assuming that might be the case, they must follow his orders. Interesting.

I did not know that,WHO HAS THE CURE!!!

> I did not know that,WHO HAS THE CURE!!!

Explosives are the cure to those types of problems

This has not yet been confirmed, of course. It is only speculation, albeit a very good one.

I actually like it like this. Since we know the forerunners had the composer who was able to turn any organic into an AI, it makes a lot of sense. and since they were no longer organic, they would have been saved form the halo Array when fired. This also makes sense in the fact of their intelligence. They are much too smart to be regular old AI like the sentinels. And honestly, I like the fact that we would technically get to be face-to-face with the forerunners like this. There’s virtually no other way we would have been able to see them, and like this we get to at least witness part of their civilization, even if it no longer exists.

This also helps the theory of cortana gaining a physical body. In Part 1 of the vidoc, people noticed cortana’s body was much more solid than before, being completely opaque for the first time. There was also a compilation of the script seen in that vidoc That seemed to reveal cortana running, climbing on the didact, and hurting him. We also know from the achievement list that 1 level in the campaign is called the composer, further suggesting this.So it is quite possible that from this evidence that the composer is able to convert organics into synthetic bodies, and vice versa(or perhaps the middle-line symbiotic body, halo organic and half synthetic/robotic. The prometheans seem to be this). The long dead forerunners are very much alive…sort of…

So does this mean Cortana will be incarnated into a Forerunner body? I haven’t encountered the Composer just yet, excuse me if I’m wrong.

“So you’re telling me they are cyborgs but deep down they’re just sweet normal dead forerunners?” “Oh hell no, they’ve always been rotten -Yoinks!-, now they’re rotten -Yoinks!- with cybernetic enhancements.”

I see dead peop-…Foreru-…Promethe-…ah forget it.

not necessarily. I believe its possible that her current AI form was given physical tangibility, allowing her to walk among organics rather than becoming an actual human. She would still be confined to all of her AI constraints, but with the added ability of a physical body in which to work with.

The composer has been mentioned a few times in the forerunner saga so far, more so in primordium I believe. He/she/it was able to transfer the mind of the human chakas into a Forerunner AI, which remained dormant until uncovered by ONI after the human-covenant war. Who’s to say the same can’t be done in reverse?

Again this is all speculation, and may not be even close to the truth. But from what we know already, it is possible.

Forerunners… aren’t people. >:(

The Bottom line is Promethean’s were designed for fighting the flood, thats why it doesnt matter how or where you kill a promethean because once you do it disenegrates thus not becoming infected by flood.
