Yeah, i’d go for some more Spartan Ops!
> Why are a lot of people talking about the possibility of paying for a second season? I have seen no sources leading to these assumptions. And why give a business ideas? Say 343 were going to release a second season for free just like the first, but then see that many people were saying they would pay instead. What would you then do as a company? If I’m wrong about there being sources please correct me, I just haven’t seen any yet.
Theyve said it from launch that the first season would be free. So everyone’s assuming that that meant after season 1 then it would cost you to pay for season 2. Can’t look for sources atm cuz I’m on my phone but I’m sure someone can point you in the right direction.
Honestly SO was nice but with 50 missions of covie and promethian blasting action to choose from I don’t see what could possibly lure me into buying a season 2.
The videos were pretty cool, but the missions were rather boring:
Kill enemies. Press button. Eggheads. Open door. Eggheads. Nerds. Uh, oh, more enemies coming in. Watch out, drop pods and eggheads. That’s the last of 'em. Press another button. Eggheads. Geeks. Kill more enemies. More enemies coming in. Eggheads. Geeks.
Unless there’s more depth to the missions than press buttons and kill enemies, I would not pay for a second season. I would just watch the videos on the Internet.
nope, never.
Are we not already paying by having to be Gold just to play them? So I’d have to say no to paying more.
I played the 1st 5 chapters and then one on Raganarok and so since I only played 6 missions I have no interest in paying for more.
The game needs fixing before I’ll spend any more money on it
> Pretty fun and epic compared to a lot of the other episodes. Shame it didn’t end with a warthog run.
That would be cool but I don’t think every Halo must end in a warthog run it became cliche in Halo 3 the ending was still epic enough I was like WTF when the gravity started to mess up, it was cool.
I would pay for Season 2 if they decided to make it. I just hope that they don’t push it out too soon just for the sake of releasing something for quick profit. I hope they actually take the time now to absorb community feedback and implement some positive changes prior to even announcing the arrival of Season 2.
I don’t think many people would pay money for Spartan Ops on top of the game and the xbox live service. It’s just too much for something that, if Season 1 is anything to go by, is lackluster and repetitive.
Cutscenes are nice but we can all view them on youtube about 20 seconds after an episode goes live and the gameplay itself is bland and repetitive.
Oh look Elites with Fuel Rods… didn’t see that coming.
I actually liked some missions in episodes 1-5 better… namely the Firefight-style levels with the ridiculous ammounts of ordnance to play with, like The Didact’s Gift.
In 6-10, I liked the maps in 6-10 much than 1-5. i also liked that they included more vehicle action, especially with the Warthog (since we currently can’t have that in multiplayer), but I had a few gripes; first of all, we only ever see the chaingun Warthog, and never the Gauss or Missile versions. I think those only appear on the very first mission.
Second is the lack of UNSC ammo crates spread throughout most of the levels in 6-10, the way they were in 1-5. I found myself forced to depend on the Covenant Carbine and Storm Rifle all too often when my UNSC gear would run out of ammo. It gets boring when you’re stuck using Covenant weapons ALL THE TIME.
I’m eager to see the next season of Spartan Ops; aside from continuing the story, I want to see some new maps in new locales, and also new gameplay; the Pelican and Broadsword really should be brought to Spartan Ops, I think. Especially since that Pelican segment in the campaign was a little disappointing.
I would pay for more Spartan Ops episodes. But if they are just going to use the same 10 maps I probably wont play it but just watch the videos.
I wouldn’t mind if it was just the episodes and they got rid of the gameplay parts. I would pay 10 dollars for ten episodes that are five minutes long,
20 dollars for 15 episodes that are 10 minutes long. That might just be me though.

First half of Season 1 was a chore to say the least. We have, however, seen progress during the latter half. It shows that 343 is listening and trying to implement changes accordingly. That’s always a good sign.
I don’t understand the reason that people assume Season 2 (if they were to release it) would revert back to the quality of Season 1 Eps 1-5…
Furthermore, i find it an invalid argument to say that the requirement for xbox live gold is another nail in the coffin. Is Spartan Ops the only reason to purchase gold? I hardly think so, considering that the majority of contemporary Xbox 360 games require gold membership if one wishes to access all contents. It’s a sad trend, but it is reality. Most of us would have gold regardless, so to say that the extra $59.99 for the membership is also part of the cost of Spartan Ops is inaccurate because by this logic, you can say the same about everything out there that requires gold.
I enjoyed most of the missions in spartan ops, i just enjoy killing things. Objectives and a goal to achieve other than just kill bring me closer to spartan ops than say firefight. The missions were indeed reused, but they were free.Free is because you get far less in many games than Halo. Most games give you a campaign and a dumbed down multiplayer i would not touch with a 10 foot pole in fear ill cry for the people that waste time playing it.
Episode 10 was a huge advancement over the previous 9 episodes. There was a lich and a ton of warthogs with 2 invincible spartan NPC’s, i could not of asked for more. The gravitational anomalies in the last chapter near the end made everything seem unknown and hectic. They opened up new areas to explore and fight in.Sure they may have always been there but we didn’t see them until the last chapter.
The dialogue has always been mediocre but it had its own identity, which for me was enough.Halsey kept her mentality till the end, cold but hints of heavy emotion.Palmer has always been that one person to hate, which brought forth depth into spartan ops.Lasky was the level-headed guy with a leadership personality, but he felt friendly and approachable.
I would pay for spartan ops but only $20 since it is not a full game, but i would pay for it.Paying $60 for a year subscription is not a lot of money, I’ve wasted $60 just to get a quick laugh. When you people that say its terrible, understand you are taking away MY entertainment if they don’t decide to make season 2 because of it.I enjoy spartan ops and i hope season 2 comes soon, with much more action and a different location almost every mission.Repeated maps are okay if a reason is brought forth, but just because… i’m not happy about.Enemies with just fuel rods is okay but not 3 elites at once, since that gets a bit difficult to find openings and forces me to use cheap tactics.
My conclusion:Spartan Ops had its up and downs, but i look forward to the continuation of the story. To me the up’s outweighed the downs as the episodes went by.343 took the feedback and it does show, season 2 would start off much better since they have a fine-tuned model to work with unlike when they first started.Understand that Spartan Ops was a new concept and needed feedback to get better.Which it did.
I hope 343 brings us season 2,with more action, bigger fights, and with a story quality that could rival the campaign.Palmer not saying eggheads would be a bonus, and no more “bad guys” would be greatly appreciated, it sounds childish.
These are my views and opinions and should be considered as such.
I wouldn’t mind them being an attachment to dlc maps, but I
m not sure if I would be wanting to pay for them alone.
I thought Spartan Ops was pretty good, and I’d like to see another season.
I wouldn’t pay any more for it beyond my Gold subscription though.
Yup, but I probably won’t play any of it; the cutscenes are what makes SpOps. Like I’ve said previously, they should really ditch the entire gameplay aspect of SpOps and allocate resources that would be used for SpOps to other parts of the game, or perhaps to Firefight.
I probably would, yes. Yeah the maps were repetitive, but that’s not really an issue to me. I play a lot of SWAT and the same maps pop up over and over (Haven, Adrift, etc.), so it’s not that much of a big deal. However, what would be interesting is having our Spartan Models pop up in future cutscenes along with Majestic/Palmer. I’m not a big technical guy, so I don’t know if that would be a possibility. But hey, why not?
No, for a reason that I mentioned in another thread a while ago.
The day that 343i asks for more money in order to understand the campaigns of future Halos (no reason not to believe that you’ll need to play Spartan OPs to understand it), is the the final straw that’ll break the camels back.
It’s already bad enough to require a GOLD subscription to play. If I see no mention of Jul,what happened to Requiem and how or what happened to Halsey’s arm in Halo 5 (not really planning to buy Halo 5 at this point, but I would watch the campaign gameplay) I’ll see 343 as a corporation deemed at sucking every single cent from my wallet. It’d be like a compulsory DLC for campaign in order to understand the next.
