Season 1 concluded today…it had a rocky start, begining with lag issues due to it being a streamed mode rather then downloaded (to star with)with the repetitious levels and always going to the same places every week making it a little bland
The second half was much better, more exciting with bigger and better action but a rather anti-climatic gameplay ending in the final Episode
The video’s which tell the story of Spartan Ops can all be viewed online, for free, and its these videos that really give the story of Spartan Ops…so, what you are paying for, if charged for it, will be the same style of action, locked away content opened each week
Me, not too sure in all honesty, I have enjoyed Spartan Ops a lot, especially with my own team of Spartans but…not sure if its enough to convince me to spend more MSP on it should it be required
I want to see and hear about improvements first. Setting the difficulty to Legnedary isn’t the only way to make the missions more challenging. Cinematics of our Spartans before and after the mission would be great, More vehicle usage and some unique objectives…I just want to see Spartan OPs get beter.
nope. because i’m bored to hell by the current story. the books introduced a god-like enemy and now we’re back to fighting covenant… the whole game and spartan ops feel/felt like filler episodes in the greater halo lore to me.
I would pay for it but that isn’t saying much. I will buy any Halo DLC whether it’s multiplayer, campaign, armor(as dumb as that sounds), anything really. I wouldn’t be overly excited about it but I would purchase it. Either way here is how I hope the delivery of Season 2 pans out…
I hope we get a Halo 2 HD remake and I hope we get Spartan Ops Season 2 packaged with that. That would make more people inclined to getting the Halo 2 remake. Since Spartan Ops season 2 would be connected to H2A in a way I would hope that some of the levels in Spops season 2 would be based off of Halo 2 multiplayer or campaign levels. Too bad (spoilers lol)Delta Halo is blown up. That makes my idea a very difficult one to pull off.
I’m not even sure I’m going to play it even if it’s a free download if it’s just going to rely on the cut-scenes. I suspect they’ll open co-op campaign support or simply just run Season 1 greatest hits. It’s all speculative till someone actually does I don’t know… communicate with the community on what’s going on with Spartan Ops.
My hope is they will section off parts of Season 1 and turn them into Firefight maps till Season 2 is green lit or Halo 5 launches. So once again left in the dark. Great job everyone.
If they charge I’m not paying due to other games in the pipeline. Gotta save up some money for GTA, Bioshock, and eventually Destiny.

It was just a giant waste of time. Huge disappointment. Will not buy.
I wish they make a mission in Spartan Ops where each player get a specific objective like… Player A distract the enemies and make them follow him, Player B is tasked to high jack a vehicle, Player C is tasked to pick up an item somewhere, Player D clear out path for Player B to pick up everyone and head for pick up zone. Something like that.
The ending was actually very good, was expecting a cutscene but I’m fine with the way it ended. Spartam Ops is practically the only thing about Halo 4 that I’ll defend.
Isn’t Spartan Ops DLC basically free anyway? lol and the only reason I play spartan ops is that it offers a heck of a payoff(at the cost of instant Prome-Death over and over again XD)
These things take time. Look how long it took them to produce the campaign. That was set in stone at the very beginning. Spartan ops came very late on, they had no time to do such a thing.

As its is Spops is all right for a freebie (in a way). Whether I’d buy a second season depends on:
A. Price
B. Content.
If we were to get similar content to season one and it is cheap then I’d be game, if it was say £15-20 then no.
For for £15-20 I’d expect a hell of a lot more.
I would have rather had seen Spartan ops as a DLC expansion (as in a new campaign) with a lot more polish. As well as not needing to be online to play it. First one could have been released a year after the game came out, second one two years. Then by the third Halo 5 would be ready.
It all depends on how much it was. After Castlevania LOS, I’ve been VERY careful about what DLC I buy. SOps wasn’t perfect, but it was fun and it projected the story in an interesting way. Looking back, I wouldn’t pay retail price for Season 1, but I would buy it. I think 343 could have told the same story without 50 levels. I think this would fix everyone’s core complaint.
No. I wish they don’t make any more Spartan Ops seasons before Halo 5, or even after it, if this is the quality that we can expect. The videos are awesome (although there’s only like 3 characters that I care about: Halsey, Lasky and Jul) but the missions were never really fun to play imo. I’ve had some great times blowing up my teammates’ vehicles and -Yoink!- them off, but other than that I didn’t enjoy the gameplay.
If they make more of Spartan Ops before Halo 5, it should be free. But I think it’s pretty obvious that it won’t be… Tbh I’m really concerned about where this whole thing is going. I’m worried that Spartan Ops will become a new cashcow and that the quality of the story will quickly deteriorate. I just hope that the fans say a strict “No” to that kind of bs and instead demand that they bring back Firefight for Halo 5. Spartan Ops can stay if they also bring back FF, but if I had to choose just one, I’d take Firefight any day, even though I’m a story junkie.
