It’s the end of the month, any news on the ranks? When do they get reset? And are they going to keep the seasons monthly? I’d prefer it if they were longer, I’m still seeing quite a few unranked players in matchmaking.
As of now, I believe they are resetting after the 29th of Feb.
Yeah, I think monthly seasons are too short. It takes more than a month to really climb the ranks. Once you’re placed in a tier, you’re pretty much stuck in that tier even if you start playing a hundred times better than when you were unranked and pending placement. For instance, if you screw around and get placed in Silver because you weren’t taking it seriously, but you’re actually more on par with Diamond-tier players, you’ll likely never reach Diamond that season.
Quarterly seasons make more sense, since not everyone is going to be playing this game that much, and even people who do play that much aren’t always playing the same playlist. I think after the first rank reset I haven’t ranked in more than two playlists at once, and I often don’t even place until towards the end of the month.

Actually I have to disagree with that part, for good reason. I was placed in Gold 4 this season, which was way lower than last. I tend to play Team Slayer solo a lot, so I decided that I would push to get back to Diamond. At Gold it was pretty easy to carry the team, but Platinum got tougher. But eventually I got back to Diamond, so it can be done.
I agree though, it does take a while to climb. It’s only because I’ve been fortunate enough this month to have the time to sink into Halo that I could do it. I really wanted to push for Onyx in FFA, but will have to start fresh now. So yeah, quarterly seasons would be ideal. It’d give us plenty of time to push through to the highest rank we can achieve.
I am also still getting unranked players in my games, which really sucks. There’s no benefit at all to playing an unranked player - if you win you only gain a bit of CSR, but if you lose you lose big. So a longer season would also mean less unranked players.
Honestly I reckon the seasons should be shorter.
Its just so boring to get Onyx then get Onyx again on alternate accounts then theres nothing to do.

Ah yes I’m home now and after a little warming up the ranks are not reset
I would live to know getting fed up with my ranks being locked and the fact ranking up divisions when im constantly out in the wrong one is so blummin hard. I just want 10 placement games and be put in one where i will placed properly.
