So why the sudden love for h5s mp?

Idk what you mean. I dislike H5 in general, it’s my least played Halo title.

People out here really going that far to praise the lootbox system, and the gameplay? That’s insane bruh.

Loot boxes are garbage, but at least Halo 5 allowed me to unlock a sizeable amount of customization content without paying a single dime. Infinite offers you a few scraps and puts everything else behind a paywall.

Could also buy 9 helmets for $10 whereas that gets you a color now. What value!

I love the halo 5 Magnum, halo 5 Magnum isn’t garbage, is the most balanced Magnum I ever seen, reminds me of halo 1 Magnum, but still halo 5 magnum is better to me :no_mouth:

While I understand where you’re coming from, it doesn’t really contextualize the monetization/customization systems anymore than it oversimplifies them.

Generalizations aside, out of the sizable “free” 175 total armor variants, how many did you end up equipping? Out of the sizable “free” 294 emblems, how many did you display? Just spitball me a number here, best guess. “Free” also implies that while you could unlock it by playing, they still included a monetization system even though you were charged up front to play it.

Personally I displayed the promo emblem I got from doing something that I can’t recall, and equipped the Anubis helmet with a body piece that I forget the name to because I didn’t have Orbital unlocked yet (and never did) and the body looked ‘ok’. I only reached SR38 when I quit, but out of all of those armors I unlocked through those 38 levels, I used a combination of the ones I unlocked within the first 5 because it the look was “clean” enough.

Despite all the customization options we’ve ever gotten over the years, players tend to lock a look down rather than mix and match as they carry on playing. They might experiment with a piece or two here or there, but ultimately they’ll find a look they like and stick with it. This isn’t the case for all players of course, but I’d wager it’s at the very least more than half.

Halo 5 gave you a massive amount of cosmetic content (limited you to two choices, but I’m not gonna focus on that right now) but ultimately players most likely didn’t use, at the very most, more than 10% of it.

Halo5 is far better in terms of whatever Infinite is trying to be.

Both magnums were unbalanced in their own way.

CE’s absolutely shredded at close to mid range

If I recall, Halo 5’s was nutty at all ranges and had to be nerfed because it was outperforming primaries.

It’s ok to like them, but neither were “balanced”.

That’s quite the claim, how would you elaborate?

Considering this isn’t your thread. No, I don’t think I will.

It’s literally just the 343 fanboys and competitive players

To be fair, at least you could earn them and NOT have to pay a dime extra on a $60 to unlock stuff…you might have to hope for good RNG but you were not spending real money and could earn the loot boxes and earn in game currency for them…

The MP was decent besides the minimal customisation you could do to your spartan.

The campaign was the the main problem with the game.

Halo 5 was better then people give it credit for, they just remember that bad speech too offen. Needed real MP maps too, not just play places made with forge.

I think the multiplayer in 4, 5 and Infinite suck in their own special way.

Halo 4 with custom loadouts, personal and global ordnance, bad maps and playlists.
It was bad because the whole game felt like fiesta

Halo 5 with the spartan abilities, heavy aim, warzone, MTX, maps and lack of a proper BTB
It was bad because it felt like a different franchise, like advanced warfare or titanfall

Infinite with lack of content, poor networking, customisation & game design choices eg glare and outlines
It’s bad because of a complete lack of everything across the board and instability.

Reach had some genuine issues like lack of maps, armour abilities, lack of proper ranked and bloom but its faults pale compared to all 3 of these games, at least it had a healthy amount of good playlists, forge, good custom games, a good campaign, firefight, reliable theatre and file sharing, lobbies, stat tracking, menus, sensible lighting, good vehicle gameplay and things all 3 mostly screwed up.

Halo 4 campaign, was not bad, and I didn’t mind the Halo 4 multiplayer personal load-outs, I could choose my play style. Halo 5 multiplayer though inconsistent hit detection became a real problem for me, and also being spawn killed constantly, I always thought to myself … who creates a game where you can be killed as soon as loading in, not even getting a chance to play. Halo 5 campaign was okay except for the copy and paste warden fights. Halo Infinite the Campaign in Canada costs $80.00, and it was pretty much just copy and paste content. Halo Infinite multiplayer, what needs to be said that hasn’t already been said. Halo 5 was definitely the beginning of the decline for Halo.

Probably because Halo has been on a downhill slide since Reach and when every game is a little worse than the last in every meaningful way, this is what will happen.
