from what I remember and personal experience h5 wasn’t the most loved mp out there and now I see some folks saying tis on par with h3? since when did h5 mp become loved? it was the least halo like mp I ever played and now its being treated like the classics? what the heck
and dont get me started on the comparison folks make with h5 and infinte mps when the only thing from that stayed is the clamber and thrusters thats it no other compassions are needed
The moment Halo Infinite released, everyone suddenly loved Halo 5. It’s been amazing watching people praising Halo 5’s lootboxes just because they want to call Halo Infinite “predatory”
Rose-tinted glasses - there’s only a couple of people on these forums that seem to be diehard for Halo 5’s multiplayer imo - I’m sure they’ll appear here.
In 2004, I wrote many rants on Halo 2. Then when Halo 3 came out, I kinda started to love Halo 2 more, the campaign especially. But, map design was clearly superior in Halo 2 MP.
Same happened with Halo 4 in 2012, I bashed that game, calling it too stiff, robot-like, too much bloom, and worst map design.
Then when halo 5 came out, I thought hmm, I kinda liked halo 4, it didn’t have sprint and aim down sight and diving madness.
Same thing now with halo 6. I’m really missing the weapon selection from halo 4 and 5. Like, what the hell happened? we went backward.
So ^^ all that is a common thing.
But, the second important point is that as a game ages, weapon balance is modified, you kinda settle in and the initial bite goes away, and more maps are added, and you have more plesaant experiences with better game types that are added.
It’s human to do this. It’s my 5th go around at this, and I still can’t stop myself bashing the F outta a new game.
At least REQ packs were grindable. Now if you want hazop armor, you are forced to drop $30 total for what is 1 armor set. Halo 5’s REQs were a better system, but not by much. Colors were free too, but the actual customization was worst in the series.
This is a direction that (most likely) a few H5 Fans are trying to push.
The only positive thing about H5 was Forge, the custom game browser and the ability to switch seats.
Gameplay-wise, it was trying to copy elements of various movement-driven FPS shooters back then. I’m glad we moved away from that trend.
So no, there is indeed a lot of criticism for Halo Infinite right now - but the gameplay is not the issue. Most people (whether it’s the community, or Reviews from most outlets) are stating that the gameplay is superior to H5, 4 & Reach.
The problem right now is the lack of playlists, a prog system, the lack of Forge et cetera.
I’ve noticed a few, but not very many. I never had love for 5. The campaign made no sense at all and the multiplayer was so far away from classic Halo. I think I stopped playing 5 like a month after forge was released. Normal multiplayer was far to sweaty and fast paced to try and chill and just have fun. I only picked it back up when they added warzone firefight. And that became the only thing I really touched.
