Every other playlist could be for casual play.No ranks,just credits.
Having a 1-50 system in the Hardcore playlists will be great for the long run of Halo 4.It will keep people playing the game for a long time.Not having ranks,or any ranking system at all will end up being exactly like Reach(To4`s matching 4 individuals,unfair teams,no real goal). Ive read where they said there wont be a 1-50 system but could someone explain to me how that system hurts anyone? How is it fair for ranked to be taken away from us? What if we took social away from you and you were left with ranked and ranked only?Would that be fun to you?
I dont get what gaming franchises are coming to now.I thought the idea was to progress?

Your ranks were taken away in Reach by your beloved Bungie. 343 Has stated they are working on an intuitive system that represents player skill more accurately that a 1-50 system. The fact also stands that 1-50 ranking is not what made the MM system of past games function correctly. I don’t see where the argument comes from, and to be quite honest I think it rather childish of you to assume you speak for an entire section of the gaming community.
Because 343 already realised that the 1-50 ranking system not only promotes boosting regardless of the playlist, but it also enhances the already ridiculously high level of elitism within the community.
A single progression system throughout the board works better than measuring e-peens in specific “competitive” playlists. And it makes all playlists competitive for that matter.
No “Social” or “Ranked” playlists. No “competitive” players or “casual” players. Everyone is playing the same thing all across the board. So stop tagging people already.

Visual 1-50 has nothing to do with how the MM system functions, a lot of you "competitive. Guys seem to be either blind to, or refuse to acknowledge that fact.

There will always be elitism. Whether they have a better highest-skill than you, or they beat you in a MM game, people are still going to talk trash and be “elitest”.
How childish do you have to be to care about elitism in a video game anyway. If you’re so smart, can’t you just rise above it?

The visualness had nothing to do with it, correct, but 1-50 still allowed for extremely tight TrueSkill and made sure any parties of 3+ matched other parties of 3+… something Reach lacked immensely.
