So Why no Kinect add-on?

Has 343i said anything about why we won’t be getting Kinect support for Halo 4?

I’m not one to praise Kinect, but I thought it was absolutely great In CEA, it was good fun being able to scan enemies, I really thought they were going to add this back in, from what I heard the community enjoyed it as well.

Thoughts on this matter at all?

Sorry bud, not hatin’ on Kinect but I’m absolutely thrilled there isn’t. I hate missing content for a series I love because I didn’t buy a faulty accessory for 150 bucks

Because kinect is a useless gimmick by microsoft to try and claim more money for it’s ageing console after seeing how well the Wii did in sales.

Nah

Kinect is terrible, keep that as far away from my Halo as possible.

Not to be “that guy” but in all fairness Kinect is terrible.

There is enough exclusive rubbish in Halo 4 already without the inclusion of features that only players with Kinect can use.

ask about a halo kinect feature? you should be spartan kicked into a pit of death

Kinect is a useless gimmick. I’m glad they didn’t put any exclusive Kinect stuff in it.

Scanning could have easily been implemented without the use of kinect. I’d raqther not have content locked from me because of a 150$ pos.

The kinect for CEA was horrendous. My friend had it. He had to say analyze as loud as possible for it to open it. Also one time my friend was admiring some of the scenery and said “Wow thats so beautiful, they did a wonderful job with that. I think its great.” I believe the kinect heard that last sentance as “I think its GRENADE!!!” I believe so because after the word great left his mouth a frag bounced off my visor and we both freaked out.

I died!!! LMAO

So far, my brothers kinect purchase has been nothing more than an expensive mic. i think microsoft promised, “Revolutionary Ways of Gaming” or something like that, and we got…

Voice Recognition.

And half the time it doesn’t even work. Try playing Madden 13 using kinect. it’s bloody awful. Somehow, “Play Action Pass” sounds similar to “HB Dive”

Side note: You actually CAN’T just say the exact play into the mic, you have to say “Audible” and then choose “More” to look through the worst possible plays the game could pick (A QB sneak when i’m 3rd and long) and you’re lucky to get through it all, because of the shoddy VR. So many delay flags…

I don’t want five year olds jumping around the room, knocking things over and breaking valuable items because they think they’re Master Chief.

343 actually has said quite a lot about Halo 4. No Kinect, no 3D and no flashy extras.

> “We are not supporting 3D TVs or Kinect for Halo 4,” said O’Connor. “3D in Halo Anniversary was a benefit we got from the method we used to switch between classic and modern graphics, and we were able to use that area of the frame buffer to put out two sets of data at the same time.”

There were video shots of the Halo 4 supporting Microsoft’s new “SmartGlass” multiplatform software on a second screen like a smartphone or tablet, or even PC’s. I guess that’s their alternative, sounds pretty excellent to me.

You’re asking for the biggest casual cashcow from MS on a site dominated by hardcore gamers?

However, to be fair, atleast it’s not the playstation Wii, err…I mean Move

I used the Kinect in Anniversary just to try it out, and I would have to say something two or three times before it actually picked it up. It just doesn’t work well enough to be in the game.

I heard they were going to add something for Halo 4 with the kinect, but that was just a rumor months ago.

Frankie said that they felt that Kinect didn’t add anything special to the game so that’s why there’s no Kinect support in Halo 4.

I thought it was good in CEA as well. I wouldn’t have minded if there was some small Kinect feature in H4.
